Shower was very hot, temperature hard to control. Bar closed very early.

Lovely quiet hotel, in a beautiful location. Amazing view from the balcony up towards the Kyles of Bute.

The second morning there was no hot water for showers. It was 8.15am so not as if we were leaving it late . They did take £30 off the bill when we were checking out and settling up for dinner and drinks. From the low key reaction of the receptionist I could not work out if this was a' one off glitch' or something that happens more often! I accepted the apology for the inconvenience. Breakfast was standard offering. Except that both days there were no yoghurts ( something about a wonky fridge). Also unusual to not have muesli in the cereal selection and no scrambled eggs and rather basic looking baked beans. As a vegetarian I would have liked a choice of eggs. The fried breakfast was apparently fine.

A very comfortable bed with good quality bedding in a well -furnished room with sea view and shower room as requested. Public areas are spacious and comfortable with bar and restaurant. We enjoyed an evening meal with friends joining us. We liked the old style grand decor. Staff cheerful and helpful. Wonderful sea and landscape views from the hotel. Well situated with gardens and car parking on outskirts of Rothesay. Lift access was one reason we booked because of my wife's mobility issues.

Nothing really. I would say it's an old hotel and some oarts like the room could do with an update, but it was clean comfortable and a good size.

Food was very good and not to expensive. I did like how informal the meals were you could sit in a dining room or in front of a TV in the lounge and have the same meal. View from our room of the bay was lovely.

Ladies toilets could do with improvement and some upgrading in certain areas of the interior.

Breakfast very good and seaview room very comfortable with outstanding views. Dinner good if a little unimaginative in the vegetarian and fish options but good quality. Comfortable bar and lounge areas.

Bathroom was dated and in need of a refurb but was spotlessly clean.

Hotel was in an ideal location and had amazing views. Although a bit dated, the hotel was spotlessly clean. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and it is very dog friendly.

Not enough parking spaces for size of hotel. Asked for walk-in shower but never got it also bathroom could do with shelves or shower caddy for accessories, had to put shower gel etc on floor of shower and bathroom was quite small. There was only a bedside lamp on one side of the bed so couldn't read in bed.

The view over the sea was fantastic
