Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere were quite a few spiders in each of the rooms in the property but it hard to get them all so we won't complain.
The glasshouse was a lovely little place, in a great location, about a 10 minute walk to the shops, had all the nessicery equipment needed for our stay, the place was comfy and we really enjoyed it.

United KingdomVery minor, but the wood for the wood burner was a bit too big, making it difficult to use without hot embers falling out of the fire.
Lovely location, tastefully decorated and dog friendly.

United KingdomJust the steps down to the property. Best to take a torch.
The Glasshouse was very attractive, very clean and comfortable. I had 2 great nights' sleep. The host had left milk, butter, buns and dog treats, which was a lovely gesture. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

United KingdomThere is nothing to fault the property. There is a little bit of noise from the main road, but with a little bit of background music playing you don't notice it.
Lovely and clean. Scones, jam, cream and pint of milk was a lovely touch.

IrelandHaving to leave!
We really enjoyed our time in the Glasshouse. From the moment we arrived to our departure a week later, we could not have asked for more. We also loved the extra touches. The scones, cream, jam, pet treats and the lovely blanket Abigail left for us made us all, including our beloved dog, feel very welcome. Many thanks.

United KingdomI wouldn't describe the following as "didn't like", there was nothing we didn't like. More of a, "it would be nice if"..... The shower room was a wee bit chilly and had no heater/radiator in there. The path leading to the property has a few wonky steps/gravel and is pitch black at night. I am the most clumsy human to ever walk this earth. A couple of lights along the path would be reassuring.
We stayed at The Glasshouse in March, I'm a bit late writing a review! Delightful place to stay. Beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The weather was pretty chilly, so it was nice coming back to a cosy and comfortable little cottage. Made even more snug with a log burner. Lovely big windows in the living room. I do like a big window :) Would happily stay at this gorgeous little hideaway again.

United Kingdomthe parking was not right next to the property so arriving late at night meant that I had to carry bags down a small unlit path - this could have been highlighted better by the owners in the description but was not a dealbreaker
I liked the decor and furnishings, the location of the property, the privacy and the cleanliness. Lovely touches by the owners such as scones and jam. And check in was very good!

United KingdomThe first night we stayed the underfloor heating was left on in the bedroom even though it was a warm weekend in June. Thought it would turn itself off, maybe on a timer later on. Still on when we returned from an evening out and the instructions at the cottage requested to call the host to turn it off. As it was quiet late we thought probably best not to. Found it to hot to sleep so had to open the windows. As the property is near to the pub we had a lot of people walking past at closing time which was quiet noisy and kept us awake. Therefore first night sleep not very restful. We did call the host the next day so we were able to turn it off for our second night stay, so slept much better.
Good location as only a stroll away from the harbour. Great dog walks on the door step also. Although the cottage is situated just off a main road, you really didn’t hear the traffic once inside. Had everything you need at the property, loved the personal touch of a cream tea and milk left for us. Comfortable with plenty of light, great view from the living room window, clean, modern and spacious.

United KingdomNot an issue for us personally but worth noting the road that this property is set back from can be a little noisy with passing traffic and people as it is one of the main routes into Ilfracombe.
Good location for exploring Ilfracombe. Very clean and tidy with modern appliances. Lovely outdoor seating area. Plenty of information left for guests. Tea, coffee, milk and scones were a lovely gesture too. We enjoyed spotting the two foxes that often around here too!

United KingdomAs soon as we arrived and saw the Glasshouse, we knew we’d done the right thing to book it. It looks like it’s newly designed with everything you need for a cosy stay, including a wood burner. It was immaculately cleaned, lovely big windows that let a lot of light in, and a great little area for relaxing and watching TV if that’s what you want to do. The kitchen area had all the equipment we needed. The location is perfect as it’s only a short walk down to the harbour. There are some great walks nearby too, with impressive views. It’s surrounded by a little garden area with outdoor seating, and we really loved taking in the views. We would 100% stay here again. We had a great time.
