Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere wasn't anything that we didn't like.
We loved the pub and its facilities, it had a wonderful outside area but the inside of the pub was just as cosy. The food was outstanding, a little more expensive than normal 'pub grub' but fabulous food and the breakfast was excellent. Our room was beautiful and it was all dog friendly.

United KingdomUnfortunately our choices for dinner were not sent to the kitchen after taking our order and therefore our food was very late coming out. No one explained this or apologised until we complained that we had been waiting well over an hour and a half for food.
Room was lovely and comfortable. Bar staff extremely friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWe stayed in the pasture and it was a little too hot overnight - the fan provided was very loud, but the receptionist replaced it with a quieter fan the next day which was great.
We had another lovely stay at the gin trap! Exquisite decor. Such friendly staff. Love the personal touches. The kitchen is first class!

United KingdomWine and bar drinks vey very expensive. £16.00 for two dry sherries is taking the mick. ( A bottle of good Fino costs around £10.00.) Appreciate the Inn has to make a profit, but sky high prices will deter customers.
Room lovely, staff excellent, really good breakfast. Restaurant food really good, but maybe not to all people's taste.

United KingdomWe liked everything! There really wasn't anything we didn't like.
Our room (apartment) was perfect - nicely appointed with everything to hand that we could wish for. The bed was really comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom were lovely and we liked the reusable bottles with great smelling toiletries. Loved the gin and tonic welcome drink in the apartment. The variety of dishes available for breakfast was wide and the quality of the food very good. Regarding the dinner menu, the quality of the dishes that we had was way above that normally experienced in a pub restaurant, in fact it was more akin to a fine dining experience. The service in the dining area was second to none.

United KingdomOur room was the smaller one and would only be suitable for a minimalist couple, in my opinion (we were two friends and it wasn't comfortable - no storage or space). They didn't make up the room, just changed a bottle of water which was a shame for the price. There was also a drain outside that if you stepped on splashed you with water. You really do have to book dinner as they get very busy but the food is worth it. If I could change one thing, it would be that they rented out bikes! Prime location for a bike ride.
Great food and fabulous staff. Location is great for visiting the coast.

United KingdomWe would prefer normal pub food. We found the one meal we had tasty but sparse and expensive. Although breakfasts we liked.
Our room The Warren was very comfortable with nice big shower room and a private patio. Appreciated the complimentary Gin Trap gins and our dogs gift with map of local walk. The breakfasts were good. The staff were very friendly and paid a lot of attention to our dog, so he was very happy. We would stay again if in the area.

United KingdomI received two reminders reference our future stay which included Dogs were not allowed within the Restaurant only in the Bar. This did not effect us as we did not have a Dog. However, on the second morning of our stay, Dogs were in the Restaurant at Breakfast. In my opinion it would be wise to follow printed information as you may have problems should a guest be concerned to find Dogs within the Restaurant.
Well run hotel with excellent staff and good food. We enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomThis lovely old pub on National Cycle Route 1 immediately appealed with its big chestnut tree standing in front and row of former stables creating a front courtyard with a few bar tables to get the evening sun and sink a welcome pint (we'd cycled there on a warm day). Inside though, the place has been transformed into a foodie paradise, with an exceptional restaurant as well as bar meals and a large, beautifully appointed beer garden with weathered furniture, rugs and covered areas to while away a summer evening. Our newish room was right at the back, dead quiet, and included its own small patio. Excellent shower and a comfortable bed, super friendly and attentive staff, just a real treat near the North Norfolk coast.

United KingdomThe room was lovely but the decoration was a little tired. The en-suite was a little cramped with no window with an ill-fitting toilet seat.
The location was perfect and the property was cosy and comfortable. The super king-sized bed was really very comfortable, we had everything we needed in the room, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fabulous.
