Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately there was a fire alarm in the early hours which disrupted sleep. It was turned off quickly but no explanation was provided as to why it occurred
Rooms appeared to be new, very clean and nicely presented. Likewise the shower room was in first rate condition Breakfast could not be faulted

United KingdomThe hotel has clearly just been renovated and needed some finishing touches in our room eg shelf and hooks in bathroom and mirror in bedroom (maybe why it was discounted). The alley way from town needs a good clean up and detracts and spoils the approach. Wouldn't take much to sweep up all the rubbish, remove dead weeds and planters. Hanging baskets and new planters in alley way and seating area under canopy would look lovely and more upmarket.
Stylish hotel with lovely facade from alley way (on photo) Friendly staff, good room lay out, comfy beds, good shower. Discounted price. Parking. Central position.

United KingdomVery nice shower room/toilet, but NO SHELVES! Nowhere to put a toilet bag near the sink; nowhere in shower cubicle to put anything except on the floor! This isn't the only accommodation that doesn't believe in shelf room in bathrooms, is it a THING? Good job it was only a one-night stay! It's little things like having shelves in a bathroom that make the difference, - a place to park your razor, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, aftershave, and keep your toilet bag off the floor 😡. Oh, and the head-banging music at breakfast 😱 I know we need waking up, but not to that! Glad to say it didn't last too long...
Central, but a bugga to find in the car with satnav! Lovely breakfast selection, continental and full English. Comfy room, nice clean shower room. Friendly helpful staff. Parking available on site, but an extra £5er.

United KingdomThe only mirror was in the bathroom. Plenty of wall space for one or more in the bedroom, not good for hair drying. No toilet roll holder or toilet brush. No lampshade on the ceiling light just bare bulb. Made the room feel not quite finished.
Lovely staff. Room clean with comfortable bed. Bottled water in the room. Private car park for guests. Large shower in the bathroom with plenty of hot water.

United KingdomThe only thing that I can think of that wasn't perfect was there was no window in the room. I also couldn't find the property as it is tucked away a little bit, but the gentleman on reception did stay on the phone when I called for help, and helped direct me to the car park which was greatly appreciated.
Clean and modern,

United KingdomRoom took hours to heat.Toiler roll should be on a toilet roll holder given its a boutique luxury hotel.
Nice place not far from trains, trams, town centre shops etc. Great breakfast .Not sure it is a boutique or luxury hotel from what I saw. It was pleasant with a comfortable bed though and clean.

SpainThe hotel feels a little tired-they are working on new changes so expect on the next trip it to be refreshed. The carpets need replacing, removing or a serious deep clean. The dining area has an unorganized look that just feels like a temporary kitchen. It's okay for breakfast but for lunch or dinner it would be unappealing. Breakfast could be improved by selection of fresh fruit refreshed daily, proper coffee not Nescafé and some unsweetened Greek yogurt. I'd replace the plastic wrapped croissants with fresh ones out of the oven daily (there are good frozen ones quick and easy- nice smell too). The suite should have bathrobes and slippers in our opinion or anything special for the price difference. The tub and size were the only difference. The bathroom light and extractor fan are on a sensor- would be nice to deactivate this-very annoying. We are capable of turning them on and off as needed. Just a note Heated towel bar doesn't work
This is another trip to the GW while visiting Rotherham and our first with the new owners/management. We were warmly welcomed and loved the service throughout our stay by all of the team! Just perfect! Throughout the week, the staff could not have been better. The entire team always, smiled, asked if you needed anything and made us happy to be back! Thank you all!!! -We booked the large suite since we were here longer. -The room was ideal for us. It is upstairs, quiet and away from the rest of the rooms. -The bed was very comfortable. The duvet the perfect weight. Linens were white as can be and pillows were to our liking. -We love that the windows open so the fresh air comes in and the view of Rother Minster steeple was nice. Mosquito screens would be a nice addition. -Towels were worn and tattered upon arrival, but we mentioned this and they immediately had them changed-perfect. -The shower is powerful which is wonderful but water goes across the floor to the toilet so you'll need a big bath mat. 😃 -The large bathtub was a nice treat The breakfast was good and the staff accommodated requests with ease for vegetarian sausage, cheese in the eggs. The mushrooms were delicious! The regular sausage was also good. The bar is well stocked. Nice selection of wines, beers and spirits. -Cozy by the wood stove for a visit with friends on the sofas -We watched the 2nd half of the England semi-final on the big screen TV by the bar- Yeah England Bring it home Sunday We did not try the restaurant as we had other dining plans away from the hotel. The menu looked good, the chef was very nice and knowledgeable so will try on our next visit. The outside patios are great for enjoying the nice weather. We still miss the old beach vibe "bar van" outside. Parking is still a plus although no longer included in the price of the room.

United KingdomThe room was not cleaned properly. There were empty sugar packets that had been opened when we arrived and we found the last persons empty medication packets in both bedside drawers.
The bed was very big and comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious too. Facilités were useful.

United KingdomNice place but It was very expensive and should have had more little touches for such a high price! There was no hairdryer in the room and only one bottle of water between two people! The bathroom toiletries could have also been better quality and a hair conditioner is usually offered alongside a shampoo and shower gel! We weren’t told about breakfast when checking in so when we went to check out with all our luggage we were then asked if we wanted breakfast! We were not asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast and just left with the continental style while other guests were being served hot food. Also the blinds in the bedroom didn’t work so by 4am the room was very light and sleep was difficult.
Loved the style and look of the property and the staff were lovely and friendly
