Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Garden Room was beautiful. Agnes has an eye for interior design. Lots of extra touches which you wouldn’t receive in a hotel. The welcome pack was all home baked and the fridge was stocked with essentials which was so appreciated. Agnes is a wee diamond. She looked after our every need and we came away having made a new friend on the island.

United KingdomWe got lost trying to find it! Apparently there's a map on Booking but we missed that. The big TV is fixed to the wall so you can't watch telly in bed, but no big deal.
We loved everything about The Garden Room! Host Agnes was so welcoming and her attention to detail makes this such a special place to stay - the room smells amazing (Arran Aromatics products), there is a basket packed with goodies including freshly baked bread, shortbread and oatcakes and even a little whiskey. The bed is enormous and so comfortable. It is located in a residential area but just one street back from the beach, close to a cafe and a pub. There are numerous fabulous walks straight from the front door. It was perfect!

United KingdomPerhaps useful to open windows at night with screens to exclude wee beasties - that would be our only comment on warmer nights.
From our arrival Aggi made us so welcome, looked after us and was so friendly. She's a professional, experienced lady who knows her business and it shows. The room and en suite was lovely. The breakfast and refreshments delightful. We're going to be back very soon.

United KingdomYou cannot improve on perfection !!! When we revisit Arran this will always be our destination.
The "welcome"pack was beyond belief. Home made bread, home made oatcakes, home made biscuits, milk, orange juice, fresh fruit, breakfast cereal, yoghurt, cheese, prosciutto, home made jam etc. Everything was of the highest quality including the furnishings, decor and bedding and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Agnes was the perfect host, welcoming and warm and available when needed.

Everything was perfect! Agnes is such a lovely hostess. She welcomed us with a warm and friendly manner; and with a great Scottish sense of humour. We loved her! The room was immaculate. The linen and bath towels smelled like fresh laundry, which was very pleasant. You will find everything you need in the room, because Agnes thought of it all. And there is also a pub just around the corner, which is very convenient if you dont want to drive.

Amazing wee place to stay as a base to explore Arran. The property is lovely and newly refurbished and the room itself is finished to a very high standard. The decor is lovely very modern. The shower is amazing! Parking right out front and a nice wee patio area at the door to sit out. It’s literally only a 1-2 min walk to the seafront too. The owner is lovely and friendly. There was an amazing welcome pack with continental bfast and wee mini wine etc. Such a lovely touch. Great coffee/tea selection. Theres a fridge in the room and plates etc to sit and eat in or out of the room if you wanted. Just a great stay all round with everything you need and only a short drive from Brodick. There’s some shops places to eat drink in Whiting Bay but you’re not far from Lamlash which has a coop and more restaurants. Obviously a great base to explore further afield. We will definitely be back.

Very Morden accommodation, set in a nice quiet road, five minutes walking to local pub where you can have nice pub food. The beach is five minute walk to beach. Agnes the owner was friendly and welcoming down to earth. Make my husband and i feel like family. Was made to feel like a home from home, well worth what they charge if not more.
