Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe property was extremely difficult to locate for us as a first time visitor. My wife had an alarming experience trying to drive down Fore Street with the mid term crowds. We parked on the "beach" and I walked up and down Fore Street twice before I located the Gallery Some basic directions would help

United KingdomThe shower water pressure was very enthusiastic - the shower head definitely needed a firm grip :-) The room was a little rustic - but nothing that caused any issue, for our individual tastes and expectation.
Room No.1 - Large Bay Window overlooking Port Isaac. Great location for the Beach and Restaurants. En suite Bathroom was welcomed and allowed us to cool off during the hot weather on our visit.

United KingdomWe had a fabulous stay, the only negatives were the shower had cold water only so couldnt have a shower which was disappointing. Struggled to wash my hair in the sink. Our milk for teas and coffee was off (had lumpy bits). Wanted to ask someone for help with that but noone around and felt awkward to phone about it. Wasnt sure if person next to us was guest or owner so didnt ask. Could only open 1 window. Other window too stiff to move and couldnt get to stay open, was hot weather.
We loved our stay! Thank you. Beautiful room with fabulous view, very comfortable bed. Loved that we could just let ourselves in and out. Loved the pretty garden with all the ornaments! Beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view. Love that checkout was 10.30 didnt feel rushed to leave. Would definitely recommend. Also loved walking into shop entrance and seeing all the wonderful artwork.

United KingdomSome slight problems such as cobwebs in/on the lampshade above the bed and the extractor fan in the bathroom needed a bit of a clean. There was some not so pleasant rubbish left in the bottom of the bathroom bin. The shower was really powerful that the hose danced by itself. Simple things that can easily be remedied and wouldn't put us off returning again. I'm sure if we had mentioned them during our stay they could've been sorted.
Fantastic view, out of this world. Location the same, out of this world absolutely beautiful. The room was good with all facilities required for the trip. Lovely thick bath towels. Milk and water left for us in the fridge and some biscuits.

United KingdomThere is some room for improvement, the sash windows did not fully close, there was a massive cobweb behind the bathroom door and the cellotape on the tv remote was not entirely effective for easy operation. Just needs a bit more care on the cleaning? Do your homework on the car parking options, after a fraught circuit of the one track roads in the village and then up the extreme incline to escape the harbour we ended up at the Trewarthan Road Car park-this is not the best option! Carry on to the New Road car park which is just under the Nathan Outlaw restaurant (New Road).
Great views over Port Isaac harbour and , due to the size of the village itself, a great place for exploring the said village. A very nice outside lounging area with enhanced views. The shower was a highlight, good power and plenty of heat!

AustraliaWe were a little confused as to the location , so don't look for the Gallery accommodation, it is the Gallery art studio, accommodation is above. Room view sensational, but limited room for luggage . if you like fierce water pressure in the shower, this is the place for you.
The view, for a Doc Martin fan, was sensational. across the harbour to his surgery and side window looking at the school. Parking is not available at the property but you can stop in front of the building to drop off your luggage before parking at the New Road public car park, which is only 5 minutes walk up the hill. You can use the JustPark app to pay for parking. The view and location couldn't be better. Also, as a bonus, the Doc Martin walking tour leaves from in front of the Gallery. We had a fantastic time

United StatesShower pressure is out of control, too fierce to really stay in the shower. And the room is really tiny if you have to spend any time there beyond sleeping - which during heavy rains we had to. And there are no common spaces on the property in bad weather.
Room enjoys a fabulous view of Port Isaac harbor. The room is tastefully and artistically furnished and decorated. Staff were super friendly and helpful. There's a nice garden to relax in in good weather. A wonderful take-away coffee shop is just below... but it doesn't open until 9:30! And the School House Inn and Restaurant across the street once refused us service as non- resident/guests.

United KingdomThe high windows and the openness of the 'Suite' not as luxurious as I thought it would be
View was ok but windows a bit high, wasn't really what i would call a suite , more top floor of a building, location good although steep climb to car park, enjoyed our stay though and the quirkiness of the place, great little garden . A bit over priced.

GermanyIt could use a good clean—dust and cobwebs everywhere. The tv in the bedroom had no remote control and could not be turned on manually. It is loosely propped up on a pile of books, as the base of the tv is missing. It could very easily be tipped over, possibly causing damage or harm. The windows don’t close properly, leaving a 2-3 inch gap to let in wind and weather (not an issue when the weather is nice, but really cold and windy during a storm)—they need to repair this!
The location is absolutely amazing! It is above an art gallery in the heart of Port Isaac. There are gorgeous sea views, and you fall asleep to the soothing sound of waves. It is directly next to a bakery (May Contain Nuts) which has delicious baked goods, lovely hot drinks, and friendly staff. Just steps away from The Gallery is The Old School House, which we can recommend for a hearty breakfast, a romantic dinner, or just an evening drink. (Don’t forget to make dinner reservations in advance!) There is no parking, but you can drop off your luggage at The Gallery and then park your car in one of the 2 municipal car parks (only £5 for 24 hour and plenty of space; you can pay directly or use the Just Park app). The scenic 12-minute walk from the New Road Car Park was the source of many of our photos!
