Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPlace was shut for the day when we arrived so couldn't get food/drinks here but we were able to walk to a corner shop about 15mins away to get ourselves some snacks. Bit noisy outside due to location in an industrial estate but this is obviously no fault of the owners. Keys took a bit of getting used to as we needed to leave at 2am so followed instructions by leaving the keys inside our room but then realized we needed the keys to get out so had to then go back upstairs, get the keys, unlock the door downstairs and one of us held it open while the other went back upstairs to put the keys in the room lol. Only a minor inconvenience though and we are certainly in the minority having to check out so early!
Nice little place. It was clean, there were tea bags, complimentary cookies and a spacious storage place for clothes. The beds were all fox themed which we thought was quite cool, and they were pretty comfortable as well. Plenty of pillows and extra blankets so you'll always be able to adjust it to your comfort level. Decent location- we stayed here to then get a bus to Bristol airport in the morning for our flight. Guy running the place was lovely, friendly and helpful.

NetherlandsNothing comes to mind.
Great location, and really good value for money. I had nothing negative about the experience and my stay at the Fox. The room was large, comfortable and had all the amenities that I needed. I would definitely stay here again.

SpainThere was no breakfast available on our Sunday checkout. We hadn't paid for one but the option would have been nice.
For the price, all was great. Honestly nothing bad at all. We were a bit worried about the noise of the disco downstairs but at bang on 11pm the music shut off and everyone went quickly and quietly home. Was really impressive and much appreciated!

United KingdomNothing really.
I must admit it was a bit intimidating to walk in to but that was because they had an event going on. The guys behind the bar welcomed us in and showed us to our room pretty quick. I was impressed with the amount of water bottles and snacks were awaiting us in the room. I'm not a fan of sharing bathrooms with other hotel guests but it wasn't a huge hotel so I wasn't too worried. It was clean and well kept and that's all that matters. The beds were very comfortable and we had a good night sleep and that was all we needed.

United KingdomThere is nothing that can be done about this because it's the set-up, but you need to share a bathroom - however I knew that's what I was booking and there were multiple bathrooms so I never found myself having to wait to use the bathroom/toilet. Arriving quite late in the evening I had to get the key from the key safe (absolutely fine) and go through the plain white door into the property which was a bit of a different experience but I very much would say it's "Don't judge a book by its cover" because inside the property was lovely and comfortable and plenty of space.
The customer service from the staff was excellent. Prompt responses to any queries I had and really wanting to help. The breakfast was excellent - freshly cooked full English breakfast. The room was an excellent size and had a desk I could work at and there was also a sofa.

United KingdomThe room lighting. The ceiling light was dim and the bedside lamps had rather intense candle effect bulbs.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. A quiet location, at least after 10pm. It was historical building, first built around 1840. The rear garden area had a small dance area sounding night club music with lights and quirky seating areas.

SpainThe room had a fairly overpowering smell of air freshener, which I am not at all fond of. And outside when I arrived there was a building site with a massive pile driver operating only about 50 metres away from my bedroom window. But this did stop promptly at 5PM and was not an issue after then, and it has to be said that this was entirely outwith the control of the Fox.
First impressions from outside were less than encouraging, but once through the door things very much picked up, with the inside being clean and tidy. And breakfast the next morning in the cafe downstairs was a pure treat - way beyond the usual offerings I've previously experienced in England's B&Bs, while the proprietor was cheerily happy & friendly.
