Room was so so cosy and felt very homely, very comfy bed, was also very well equipped. The breakfast was fantastic, very good value for money, also best croissant we’ve ever tasted! Also we struggled to get a taxi to go to near by whisky distillery that we had booked but manager Charlie was very kind and went out of his way and gave us a lift there so we didn’t miss it.

Think the outside of the building at the front, just needs a good clean, especially the signs, as it could put people off, but as soon as you walk in its amazing.

Really nice facility, room was lovely. The breakfast was beautiful. Court yard lovely, nice seating area, plants and water fountain. Would definitely come back, infact we will be returning for breakfast soon.

We felt that the level of cleanliness (on our visit) didn’t match the rest of our experience, specifically; the kettle had old water in it, the mirror had toothpaste on it, there were crumbs on the chair and debris on the floor which made it feel that it hadn’t been hoovered very thoroughly. These are minor points which can be easily rectified but having worked as a maid are things which should not be overlooked.

This is a classic BNB. The property was perfect and the staff was cheerful. The breakfast spread was exceptional. Kudos! They offer free parking in a lot adjacent to the property. In the late afternoon, we walked up to the train station and then along the tow path and canal.

The bath tap ran yellow water when switched on. So we didn’t use the bath. Shower was great either way.

The room was very spacious, super clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was so nice. A great start to the day.

Although the breakfast was delicious it felt chaotic and cramped, the table was not cleared of used breakfast plates and dishes so even the server remarked there was no room for the coffee, so handed it over anyway but omitted the clear the stack of dirty dishes. A little staff training would have made it perfect.

Lovely warmwelcome and gorgeous room with everything you could need. A beautiful outdoor area to relax and have a meal or a drink too.

I chose the Family Tree because it is very close to the Crich Tram Museum but there is not much nearby. Shops and a Pub are within a short drive.

Very welcoming friendly staff, small but comfortable room with a good sized bathroom. We made use of the oudoor seating area for a picnic. Excellent breakfast which was enough to see you through most of the day.

We loved the Family Tree. The room was spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard with interesting features and everything you could want for a short stay. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had a good sixed bath tub. It is well located for exploring places in Derbyshire such as the Tram Village in Crich and not too far from Matlock. The breakfast was simply superb and we have been telling everyone about it.

We arrived 5.30pm and were expected at 5pm. Rang the bell to no avail but found someone in the cafe who let us in so all was well. Maybe signage on the front door would help. Only a small point this and soon sorted.

The room and the bathroom were great. All the facilities were well thought out, attractive and practical. The breakfast was absolutely yummy.
