Not a dislike - were aware of spiral steep stairs, but our 5 month old puppy decided he couldn't climb them, so had to be carried!

The bathtub shower head does not have anything to clip it into the wall, so you have to hold it the entire time you shower, which is very annoying. The stairs up to the top room is incredibly perilous to get to. Would not advise for anyone over 5’5 or elderly. No mini fridge to store things in.

Charming and cosy property, great location. The room is cute and very clean.

Service at breakfast was a bit slow and the smell of dettol from the cleaner washing the floor was a bit off putting.

Beautiful building in a wonderful setting. Food was really excellent and if a high standard - really enjoyed the “pie night”

    Nothing!

Staying at the Falkland Arms felt like stepping into a piece of history. Our room was extremely comfortable and updated. We stayed on the top floor and, even though we had to climb a winding staircase, it added to the charm and history. The staff was incredibly kind and attended to our every need.

A lovely village pub in a stunning location. Room and en-suite comfortable and clean. Dinner was delicious and well presented. The full English the next morning was just what we needed to set us up for the day. Friendly and cheerful staff means we would without doubt recommend the Falkland Arms and we hope to return (if we’re not too decrepit to manage the stairs!)

The Rooms were well equipped and beautiful. But in a 13th century coaching inn they are small and obviously so are the beds. there is no way to get bigger beds upstairs!

property was steeped in history and the atmosphere and food and drink amazing

It was not clear when booking that the spiral staircases in this very old building may cause an issue for those with limited mobility. The description only said 'no lift'.

The room was in the attic, and much larger than expected. However, persons with limited mobility would find access tricky up the very old wooden spiral staircases. Dinner was very good in a lively atmosphere. Clearly a pub for the 'locals' as well as visitors. Breakfast was extremely good, local fayre, and an excellent small buffet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I did not at any time feel uncomfortable being a solo female traveller.

Had a lovely stay at the Falkland Arms last night. A quintessential old-style pub & hotel with buckets of charm. I was travelling for work and didn't arrive until after 10pm. This was not an issue and the staff welcomed me in. I even managed a quick beer before retreating to my room. My room was a single bed with an en-suite. Plenty of room for the solo traveller. Clean and fresh. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was delightful and filling, with a small self-service buffet and a selection of warm dishes to order to accompany. Add this to your bucket list if you're heading down to the Cotswolds.

    Nothing, I loved everything.

I had the loveliest time staying here. The staff were absolutely delightful. My single room was cosy and comfortable, and had everything I needed. The food (I had breakfast and dinner) was delicious. The location was wonderful - a very peaceful little village surrounded by beautiful countryside, with great access to lots of local attractions. If you’re looking for a cosy stay in a quintessential Cotswold village, then this is the place to book. I’m already planning my next stay! I only have 2 words of caution. First, for tall people - As this is such an old building, the ceilings are very low, so I recommend calling the pub to check the ceiling heights in their rooms before you book, just to make sure you’ll be comfortable. If it’s helpful to know, I’m 5’4” and had no problem at all. Second, for anyone with mobility issues - the rooms are accessed via quite a small spiral staircase. If either of these things mean that you can’t book a room, I still highly recommend a visit to this pub for a drink or some food. It’s so pretty and full of character, well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We'd have liked to have been able to close the ensuite/toilet door but it was impossible to latch it. It was pretty difficult for us to bring our luggage, including a dog crate, up the spiral staircase.

Beautiful location and lovely old building with enormous character. Dog-friendly and welcoming
