On arrival, and throughout the entire duration of our stay, staff were uttely brilliant. No request was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after. The use of spa facilities was excellent, and it was straightforward to book ourselves in for extra treatments. All of the food we had during our stay was sublime, and the set up of the breakfast buffet made the experience very enjoyable. Our meal in the main dining room, as well as the food and drinks we enjoyed in both the bar and the lounge, were fantastic. I cannot thank you enough for making our stay so memorable. I am extremely glad that I chose your hotel for our vacation as I propsed to my now-fiancee - you made our whole vacation special and memorable. Thank you so much!

It's a bit of a walk into town. And after staying in rural inns/pubs, it was a little lacking in character, but it made up for it in comfort and quiet! :)

Breakfasts and dinner were very good! We enjoyed the thermal pool and had great massages. I love being on the lake. The room was very comfortable.

It would have been great to be able to order drinks whilst using the Spa but that is being picky!

We really enjoyed our stay here, amazing breakfast and beautiful views. Very short walk from the centre of Grasmere and the bus stop is directly outside the hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant was very good with a wide choice of options. The hotel was within easy reach of the main towns and villages.

Dinner in the lounge was very average. The terrace is a very beautiful location, but suffers a little from a lack of attention from the staff with tables not cleared for long periods and cushions not wiped after rain.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great. The Spa facilities are very good and well maintained. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the view of the lake was lovely.

Good location, was lovely and clean and surrounded by the most amazing views. This was our second visit and we can’t wait to return. Staff were lovely and friendly -especially Fernando who worked in the restaurant (hope I’ve remembered his name correct)

We stayed for 3 nights and on the second day out the sign on the door asking for our room to be cleaned. We went out and returned to find that our room still hadn’t been cleaned even after 3pm. We phoned reception to ask for more toilet roll and fresh towels and found we had to phone twice as they didn’t arrive the first time.

Pretty hotel and grounds, we enjoyed the use of the jacuzzi. Beds were very big and super comfortable and rooms were spacious with a large bath. We paid for a full body massage and it was well worth it!

There seemed to be a smell in the reception area/toilet area,i mentioned this to the guy on reception,he agreed he could smell something,but could'nt pin point where it was coming from.

There was a chinese lady serving on thursday (23/05/24) afternoon in the sitting room bar,i didnt get her name unfortunatley but what a asset she is to the hotel,very cheery and nothing was too much trouble for her.

The Daffodil Hotel is in a beautiful location on the lake and directly across from Wordsworth's Dove Cottage. The style fits with the Lake District's historical character. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable, and we had a fine view of the lake. Staff was exceptional, from the front desk check-in to the restaurant staff, to the daily maid service - all top notch. Parking was free and more than ample. Moses, the reception manager, provided extra service by accepting an important mailing for us ahead of time. We're grateful. We surely hope to become regular guests here. Very fine. We also found Grasmere to be charming, our favorite in the Lake District.

They had a lovely piano in the lounge which we found was a waste. It was used as a table and not plugged in!

I stayed in room 102 overlooking the lake and there was a lot of noise after 11pm on both nights. I did close the window and use the air conditioning instead, but this wasn't my perfect choice as I prefer not to use Air conditioning. Maybe worth adding a sign asking people to be quiet after 11pm? I appreciate that it is a beautiful view and when the weather is good the terrace is a perfect place to sit. However, paying extra for the view but having a lot of noise, doesn't really work.

Everything was perfect except there was never any staff in the bar in the evenings. There was one member of staff who came in and made us 2 cappuccinos and made out the oat milk wouldn't froth up ... poor excuse for two awful cups of coffee. On a separate occasion we asked for two cocktails and the same member of staff very abruptly told us he can't make cocktails, instead of suggesting the lounge which we weren't aware of at the time, so we left. On our last evening we asked if we could have a bar meal and sit outside, but was told by reception If we wanted to eat outside we would have to take the food outside ourselves. So we ate elsewhere. On the whole we really enjoyed our stay but I hope you take these comments on board so that you can improve your customer service to your guests who pay large amounts of money to stay at your hotel.

A very warm welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of professional, friendly staff always to hand. Food was excellent quality. Although we had a standard room, it was still spacious, spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of stunning views. The spa was excellent.

I felt sorry for the lady sitting on the reception in the spa who was stuck in a corridor all day with no windows, her colleague in the beauty section had the same fate. I must admit, it really worried me to think any employer could make any member of staff work in those conditions. The pool area was far to hot, the pool was absolutely hopeless, to hot and it was impossible to swim lengths at all as there were so many obstacles in the water and it was far too shallow. The sauna and steam room were adequate, but again far too hot for safety. The shower tap was leaking in the showers. On the surface the hotel is satisfactory for a one or two night stay, but there was no real heart and soul to the place.

Breakfast was very good, the room was spacious and in fairly good order. The bottom of the bed had worn away to the foam, the glass screen in front of the french doors was cracked and very dirty. On first sight the bathroom looked OK, but the shower fittings were made of cheap plastic and the shower tray was made of plastic, which flexed under my average weight.
