Sofa bed was not the most comfortable in the family room. Young female waitress serving tables in the beer garden on the evening of our arrival (Monday 24 June) was so disinterested and had completely the wrong attitude to work in the SERVICE industry. We are the opposite of demanding customers but she didn’t even want to point us in the right direction of a menu with anything resembling manners, a smile or even a vague impression that she might be there to help. Not really sure she is in the right job….

Lovely location, good food, beautifully clean rooms, nearly all of the staff were great (breakfast staff on morning of Tuesday 25 June were outstanding as was the member of staff who handled our check out). Male waiter doing dinner on our arrival date of Monday 24 June (7 pm) was also very friendly and helpful.

If I was going to be really picky, the only improvement could be a small fridge in the room for milk, although this was available on request at any time in insulated flasks from reception.

Stayed in the feature room with views of the lake. Beautiful room, spotlessly clean! Great selection for breakfast and staff friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Stayed for dinner and all food was of a high standard with efficient service.

We liked our room overlooking the 'pool' but it did have an upper drinking terrace which woulod be a big problem in the summer if it was in use.

Character pub like accommodation but very modern updates and the staff/service is as good as it gets.

We had some confusion when booking and believed we’d booked a room with a bath but upon arrival that wasn’t the case. Not a big deal but they did say booking.com had been a bit misleading with the details. And the parking, we had to use the pay car parks to park, then move the car to the front car park later in the evening when it was a bit quieter. Only have about 8/10 spaces and it’s the only free car park in the village.

The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. The location is also good with shops around and plenty to do.

Bathroom needed a shelf or unit to put your own toiletries on. Fixed overhead shower head only, no hand held shower so had to get hair wet. Drinks in the bar were a but overpriced

Very good welcome from the duty manager. Lovely riverside location. Excellent food in restaurant and good breakfast selection. Cosy and comfortable bedroom with lovely decor. Very nice toiletries provided.

Bathroom was quite loud when we turned the light on. It wasn’t really an issue at all except for at night when we were trying to sleep. :)
