Rooms could have been better as foldaway bed was very uncomfortable and blankets far too thin - we had a cold night's sleep.

Lovely setting and charming hotel in character building. Nice beer garden with fabulous views of the Loch. Food was great, both dinner and breakfast.

1 thing having the family pet in the hotel and having taken her out it would have been nice to see dog poo bins

There wasn't anything that could have been improved on, except the weather which is out of the hotels control!!!!!

Excellent freshly cooked breakfast both mornings. Fresh juices, fresh fruit & cereal available. A choice of booked breakfast with table service, the food was fresh and presented well. Coffee, tea, toast with preserves, all lovely, highly recommend.

We made the reservation at the last minute after there was a problem with our reservation at a different hotel. Now we're really happy the other reservation fell through. Just a couple examples about what made this such a nice surprise: We booked around 6:15pm when we discovered the problem with our original stay. We decided to drive a little further and scrambled to find a place on Booking.com that was on our way to our next destination. The Creggans popped up. It looked fine. We booked. We estimated we'd arrive around 8pm. Soon after we booked, Archie emailed us letting us know the restaurant stopped serving at 8pm, but that they could prepare something for us if we were going to be later than 8pm--SO thoughtful. We go there a few minutes before 8pm and they offered to keep the kitchen open until we were able to drop our bags and get to the restaurant. We were just expecting standard fare, but the food was exceptional! We live in Florida and eat lots of seafood, but the seafood chowder my husband had was truly memorable. He rates it as one of the best meals he's ever had! I had the Cullen Skink (my first Cullen Skink in Scotland) and it was truly tasty! Any other Cullen Skink will have a high standard to meet. The location overlooking Loch Fyne, was really nice. Easy to stroll down to the beach for a walk. Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. I had planned this trip meticulously, so it is especially impressive that a place we chose as a last-minute substitute turned out to be such a great find.

Booking.com says 3.9 miles from Inveraray. Get real. It was 20. No one is interested in 'as the crow flies' or in ths case'how the fish swims' . Sort yourselves out please!

This is an amazing pub. The owner has kept the building in original condition. ie joinery fit out. No plastic windows etc.

Perhaps less Hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict would be better.

The breakfast choices were excellent and representative of the local produce, e.g. kippers, smoked fish and eggs. The table service was friendly and efficient. Having local real ales on tap at the bar was a bonus!

Old windows in bedroom which didn’t keep out road noise. The window in dining room at very back made the table we were sitting at a bit cool .. a curtain or blind would be a welcome addition in winter.

Fantastic view. Excellent Food. Friendly staff. Hotel has perfectly blended the character of an old hotel with modern amenities.
