The property was well presented and very clean, it had everything we needed. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond to make our stay rememberable. Stayed for my partners 40th birthday and I’m happy to say he thoroughly loved it and has had the best stay, everything was as described on their website. Would definitely Come back for another amazing stay, highly recommended if you’re ever coming to Alnwick, this is definitely the place to stay, Thank you.

Room was really nice. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, like sleeping on air. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was superb. United KingdomThe Cookie Jar has a great atmosphere with a warm welcome from knowledgeable, friendly staff. Its location on Bailiffgate is brilliant if you want to visit Alnwick Castle, but it's also a great base for exploring all that Alnwick has to offer. We ate in the restaurant both evenings during our stay and can confirm other reviewers' comments that the food is exceptional.

It is a fabulous building with lots of history and is decorated to an extremely high standard. The location is excellent, and parking just outside of the hotel is a bonus and very convenient. The staff are very welcoming and can not do enough to ensure your stay is as perfect as possible. The food is excellent quality and lots of variety and again the staff in the dining room where very friendly and accommodating. A huge shout out to the cleaning team as the whole building was immaculate. There was an issue while we were there, which I must say was out of the control of the staff. However, the management team dealt with it as quickly as possible and with empathy at how it had affected us. The issue was dealt with very professionally, so I have to give the management team 10 out of 10 for customer care. This is why I would not hesitate to stay there again and to recommend it to others.

United KingdomThe room was stifling hot (despite the radiators being off and it not being that hot a day/night), so a ceiling fan or plug in fan might be a good idea. Also, the network connection on the TV wasn’t working properly so the connection kept buffering when we were watching Prime Video which was annoying. The evening meal in the restaurant was absolutely delicious but quite expensive.
The decor is beautiful, bed super comfy and the location is central but quiet. Breakfast was sensational and the staff were all an absolute delight to deal with.

Furniture in the room was not selected with user in mind, not easy to unpack into old fashion trunks with lamp on top. No where obvious to put soaks and undies.

United KingdomThe pillows took a while to get used to but weren't uncomfortable and the fan was a little broken so made a little noise but still worked. Other than these two very minor things, it was a wonderful visit.
Wonderful location and a beautiful place, with some very friendly and helpful staff. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. While it was a little pricey, it was a wonderful experience and we'd definitely return when back in Alnwick.
