Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly downside which was very unfortunate is the noise from the main road. Especially when a lorry went by early in the morning it was like an earthquake otherwise it was lovely.
Property was easy to locate with the instructions given. Parking was a little tight but do able. Room was clean and lovely and the village was lovely too.

United KingdomShower had a few hair on walls. Bed was very firm, some may like that but we are a little less firm people. Sofa bed used for our 3 yo had a metal bar straight through the center, she didn’t mind but a larger child or adult it would be very uncomfortable.
We liked the location, Box is a very cute town, and value for money. Very easy to take the bus into Bath for the day.

United KingdomIt is a great property. The adjacent road was busy and could be heard with the windows open, but there were localised roadworks which meant more traffic was using this route than I recall as usual

United KingdomThe shower leaked in the bathroom, causing flooding on the floor. There was lots of bugs like woodlouse and ants all in the bathroom, this could be due to the old style bathroom but there was too many daily it seemed a problem. The heating wouldn’t work as they directed us on the guide so we had to sleep with two duvets in very cold temperatures. One thing to mention is this is on the second floor next to a main road where a lot of lorries and buses pass and when they do, you hear it as the windows are very old and dated! The bed also shakes everytime they pass which wakes you up all night long. We read that a iron was at the location so packed clothes to be ironed… there was no iron at the location. We haven’t slept a whole nights sleep for a few days due to the old style boiler. Box is a great location if you wanna spend the day inBath, however, there is nothing to do in this village. No pubs serve food, only the Indian take away. The cafe can’t cater to dietary needs either. No supermarkets for 20 minutes drive +. You can only do 2 nights before you are bored of Box. The room was standard and cheap but I wouldn’t stay for more than one night again. I advise using it as a location to leave your belongings but not to spend your time throughout the day in this apartment.
15 minute drive to bath. Had a kitchen and utensils. Space for your bags.

United KingdomThe road is really quite loud and the building often shakes. Shower was a bit small and water pressure wasn’t brilliant. A bigger TV would’ve also been nice
Nice location and good parking. Useful to have a fridge and outside seating was nice

United KingdomShower didn't drain well leading to the shower basin gradually filling up while showering but could easily have a decent length shower.
Parking was great. The provided towels, slippers and tea towels were nice. The fan helped too.

United KingdomI did not realise how close to the road the property was (my bad) and from early morning I could hear the traffic. I solved the issue by going to bed early so being wakened up by the road did not bother me. I would have liked more light on the kitchen but that is not a big issue.
The property is lovely, the accommodation clean, comfortable and beautiful. The host was super quick in responding to any questions. I wanted to spend a few days alone writing an article and it went well. There is a convenience store 5 min walk with everything you can possibly need, from fresh fruit and veggies to ready meals. I also went on some lovely walks. Definitely recommend this studio flat.

United KingdomVery noisy due to location (next to A4). Building seemed to almost shake when large lorries / HGVs passed by. The Wi-Fi was incredibly slow.
Ideal location for local village, shop, and walks. Also quite central for touring various sites of interest eg National Trust properties, etc.

United KingdomThe location of the coach house was directly next to a busy main road with heavy traffic all day and much of the night making the house shake and rumble when lorries went past. We stayed during the recent hot weather but was unable to keep the doors and windows open due to the noise. The apartment was small which we expected but I would not call it beautiful at all. It was fitted out with poor quality furniture. Patched up painted wall. Dead flies in the lamp shades and woodlice crawling around the bathroom.
The distance from Bath.

United KingdomIt is right on the main road so can be noisy with the traffic going by (although ear plugs were provided). If you have poor mobility the stairs up to the property are not the easiest. Also the positioning of the hob makes it quite difficult to cook, banged my head a fair few times.
The location of this property is wonderful. Only a 20-25 minute bus ride into Bath and in driving distance from many local towns. The Indian round the corner was beautiful, fully recommend it. The bed was comfy and the property was nice and warm.

United KingdomThere was no soap in the bathroom but that wasn't a big deal as the kitchen sink is right next to the bathroom. Also be aware that head bumps on the beams are very likely if you are not careful but that is pretty evident in the pictures.
Very nice location and house. Everything that was needed for a good stay were available including extensive cooking equipment and free parking. The room had plenty of windows and light come in which was a nice bonus. The village of Box is also incredibly pretty and worth exploring for an afternoon.
