Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe is still only one the size of the first room we were off given was far to small as a double room.
Breakfast was very good. As for the rooms, the first room we were given was so small we had to turn sideways to get round the bed, asked to be moved which we were and this was very good. Only dined once in the hotel on the the first night as we prefer to dine at midday.

United KingdomThere wasn't much room one side of the double bed so you couldn't get out of bed that side, perhaps bed needed to be more central and a side table both sides. I got asked if we had been in the restaurant for lunch, as someone had put their lunch on our room number. We had only checked in at 3,15ish and didnt even have a room number then and we had been in Morrisons for lunch. I was told this would be taken off but when we checked out the following day we got told there was £40 to pay for the lunch the previous day. I explained the whole thing again but was upset that the lady hadn't already dealt with it when we first checked in. The man said he thought he knew who it was that had given our room number and it was sorted.
Lovely clean room with sea views.

United KingdomWe were told breakfast wasnt included in the price but if we had wanted breakfast we could order the night before at £15 each. Or pay as you go, but we're told that would prob work out more expensive. Why can't you decide on the morning if you want to pay the £15 rather than night before, as you don't necessarily know if you want full breakfast. The property met our expectations apart from this and felt for the cost of the room breakfast should have been included.
Lovely clean and newly decorated. Sea view and upstairs as promised.

United KingdomThe price are a little higher than the other nearby properties however I think they’re justified. Our room included a minibar however the prices were only what you would expect from any other pub.
The hotel is beautifully decotares and it was definitely worth the extra small amount of money for the larger room. The view is fantastic and it is only a short walk from the centre of Cromer and the sea.

United KingdomFire alarm sounding at 5.50 am one morning. When my wife politely mentioned this to a member of staff she looked at my wife and said “So!!”, which was rude and not customer friendly. The other members of staff were lovely and very helpful. Altogether our stay was very good and we will return here as my wife was born in Sheringham and we have many family members in the area.
No breakfast included in the price. £15 per head charged if you wanted breakfast - which was expensive. Lovely views overlooking sea and town a short walk away.

United KingdomThere’s not much to fault at the cliftonville hotel as I had a enjoyable stay but if it had a fault then the Wi-Fi was pretty bad as after I connected to the Wi-Fi, it then after a while later dropped out and couldn’t get it back so I gave up on it. In todays world that should be the basics and hopefully good wifi. Didn’t report it as I only stayed one night so not a problem but may be a problem if I stayed longer.
I had a lovely sea view room with lovely chairs by the window looking out towards the sea, I could sit there all day. The room was cosy, clean and comfortable. Not much to fault. Staff were friendly and helpful. I had an enjoyable stay and would stay again if ever in Cromer again.

United KingdomFar too much potato and bread with the crab salad. The crab was great. The salad was good but not enough of it but unfortunately the dish was over-run with potato and bread. Fewer spuds, cut the bread and more salad and the dish is a winner. The crab was amazing - just lost amid the carbohydrates...
The breakfast is outstanding. Convenient location. Staff are super-friendly and eager to assist without being intrusive.
