The size of the roomwad rather small, although the view from window was good. This room didn't have space for a bedside unit! Mattress was a little too firm for me. Although it had all that was needed in a hotel bedroom. I just thought the price was high for the size of the room.

Breakfast was lovely, although not much choice in the bread department. The location of hotel eas very good

Not able to open the window in the room. Old style windows which is what you expect but on hot days could not let any air in. However this was also a ground floor room

Room was exactly what we needed for the two of us and was very clean through out the hotels

Everything was fine. If I had to choose something I'd say the shower wasn't very powerful but this did not spoil our stay.

Nice clean hotel in close proximity to the North Bay area & open air theatre. Lovely sea view from the room (358). A sizable twin room with good facilities & the beds were comfortable too. Breakfast was plentiful & very enjoyable. On the whole a brief but pleasant stay.

Hotel was spotless, buffet breakfast very good. Also refrigerator in room.

    Nothing that could change really

The hotel offers a beautiful sea view from rooms but although perfect for the open air theatre it is a bit remote for the rest of scarborough we bought breakfast on our last day all you can eat £10 each it was good value and enjoyed by us would consider using again if go back

would have liked an occasional " small breakfast " option, as the booking turned out to be room only - but not a major grumble, as there was an excellent cafe nearby, with lovely views over the bay.

Staff polite and helpful. Location excellent. Very clean and well kept.

Only downside was one electric socket for TV and Fridge, needed a double socket, but didn't spoil our stay.

For a Britannia Hotel, it was clean and modern and in a great location. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Not far from Open Air Theatre, where we attended to see Tom Jones.

Lovely and friendly to myself , my daughter and our pet dog specially. Great area to get to beach and lovely views. Will definitely be booking again next year . But hope more of the family will join us .

It was very hot but without air con you have no chance. I took the duvet out of the cover and it was a 13.5 tog!!! Unreal in summer! No soap in the downstairs toilet on either day. No Tetleys on in the bar - what - its cricket week and no ale. Parking scratchcard cost eight pounds for 48 hours. First time i have had to pay for a scratchcard to park over many years of visiting Scarborough.

I stopped going to the Clifton over 20 years ago because it was overpriced, rooms quite shabby and the lift a nightmare. On my last visit the lift did not work at all and was told a new one was being installed - not true. Lift is archaic and if you dont close the gate it wont move. But the lift did work! Room had been fully refurbished but standard of furniture still cheap and ordinary. And it was hot but used the fan in the cupboard. An effort appeared to be made throughout the areas i saw with carpets and decorating.

Extra for parking on the premises and WFi only supplied free in the lobby! No air conditioning and the windows couldn't be opened without wedging something in them! It was an exceptionally hot night and we were up on the 3rd floor, so heat rises.....................

Within easy access of everything required and parking was an added bonus, although we had to pay extra!
