Could do with finishing - in need of decorating, paint looks very old. Front windows don't seal shut so let's a lot of noise in from outside (I wedged a peice of card in which improved seal)

The room was old dated, wallpaper hanging off, the headboard on the bed was absolutely filthy, there was make up or blood stains on the bed, the shower was filthy and the room was freezing. Host gave us new bedding and a heater but still needs a very good clean. Lost an item lifted bed up to find it and there was so much rubbish and dust under the bed. The dining room is beautiful amazing looking looks like all spends go into that. I’ve stayed in better hotels for cheaper but wanted to return to Chimes as 4/5 years ago it was spotless and clean.

The host was a very friendly man, helped with anything we needed. Really helpful and nice to chat too.

Location was brilliant, right opposite the beach. Had a good sea view from our room. Room was tidy. Manager was very friendly and helpful.

Basic, socket was pulled away from wall and the kettle was there. Dated facilities, probably a good idea to take your own towels, toiletries, hair dryer etc.

For what I paid, it was what I expected. Good location close to Manchester square and a comfortable night's sleep. TV easy to use and shower was good.

old lumpy bed basically. sheets clean/ mattress had stains on and covered up with mattress protector which was ripped to bits. not fit for use. i checked for bugs. none. but carpet had mice droppings around the edges and in bottom draw. wallpaper had snot marks on it. probably last painted a good few years ago as well. toilet leaked every time used from u-pipe. sink had cracks in it and the plug looked like i dug it up out of the garden/ dust covered the woodwork around the floor and TV stand/ bracket. i will never go back there ever too dirty. advertised breakfast. don't do any food. no bar. got nothing there. never seen anyone clean anything during our stay there. also owners have changed hands so big surprise.

I liked the hospitality provided and when we needed extra items like toiletries, they were provided no questions. Also when my daughter left her key in the room on 2 occasions, Rick, the owner, was available almost immediately to let her into the room. Even past 22:00 on one occasion.

Sadly I wish it did breakfast as it does have a lovely clean dining room. Also although my bedding was clean the mattress needs either replacing or a mattress topper fitted.

I liked where it's situated, the landlord is really helpful. Room, bed and bathroom were clean.

I stayed 11 days in all and the bed wasn't changed...the room wasn't cleaned once ..I had to do it myself...little tip...book through Booking.com...its cheaper than asking the manager a price...

It was quiet and comfortable.. manager wasn't always around but was contactable by phone..

but unfortunately when we got there one of the rooms was dirty and all plugs faulty and in the other room the the bathroom was dirty and shower drain was faulty so couldn't shower properly
