Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe folder instructions were not detailed enough. The instructions for the heating and hot water system were lacking detail. How to operate the shower was lacking.
The rooms were fine and welcoming. Generally clean and tidy. Good parking and key security. Good garden space. A good base for our holiday.

United KingdomRather impersonal, no contact with the owners and NO WELCOME TRAY on arrival. What happened to the beer and crisps which are still in the photos? A small heap of jiffy cloth, sponge and washing machine tablets didn't look very welcoming! Lighting in main room was rather dim and made reading rather difficult (not everyone watches TV all the time!) Bedroom lighting was fine. The blue carpet under the dining table (not as shown in the pictures) tended to ruckle so it was a slight trip hazard.
Very quiet and peaceful location with little traffic noise. Nice view onto field and horses. Good pub - the Old Mill- only a short drive away (walk there in summer?) Lots of leaflets and magazines with local info, Good kitchen equipment but cutlery a bit restricted. The dining table has 2 leaves which open out so we had one permanently open which gave room for the computer to sit while eating, enormous very comfortable bed, lots of spare bedding. Lots of directions in which you could travel - useful as we hit Storm Babet and Framlingham flooded badly and no travel possible on Friday and we had to ask for a route back towards Cambridge on Saturday. We liked the bakery but couldn't revisit (or see the castle) owing to floods.

United KingdomThe only downside was the communal garden which I didn't expect. It would have been nice to have had a private space outside but there was an open space at the front which, luckily was empty so got a bit of privacy there. If you are out all the time this is not a problem or if you are a social butterfly and don't mind a bit of company.
The location was idyllic set in beautiful countryside and lovely open spaces. Perfect if you want to get away from city / town life for a while. Property was comfy, clean and kitchen equipped fully. Main town of Framlingham only 5 to 10 minutes drive away where you have a good supermarket, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

United KingdomWe were asked what time we were checking in which I replied to. We got there about 6.15pm and it was freezing no heating on, it certainly wasn’t a warm welcome. We turned the heating on, then went up the pub for some food, when we got back it was still freezing, I sat in my coat, scarf and gloves with my partners coat over me, luckily my partner found a couple of hot water bottles, so at least we could warm the bed up. Also the separate toilet, the seat wasn’t attached, which I found out when I sat on it, luckily didn’t caused me any injury. Just didn’t understand why they had just balanced it on the toilet, this could have caused somebody a lot of harm.
Location was lovely. Place was comfortable.

United Kingdomlater check in 5pm and 10am checkout. There needs to be consideration given when parking as four cars won’t fit if someone parks thoughtlessly or centrally. No parking slots as it’s gravel, but some people just don’t consider that others need to park too!
Location, peaceful, facilities (two loos)

Comfortable cottage, had everything you needed. In a quiet location. Nice to have outdoor space & footpath on the doorstep. The local beer & crisps a nice touch. Reasonably priced for someone travelling on their own.

United KingdomSadly at the time we stayed there were some daily workers ( builders ) staying in the farmhouse who had the music on in the evening so everyone could hear it while they drank on the patio and had their vans ticking over outside our bedroom window at 7am so not as peaceful as we would have liked
A very nice well equipped apartment large double bed and lots of little touches surrounded by plenty of open space to walk

United KingdomProperty definitely not as fresh as it looks in photos. Bathroom grouting around shower grotty with black mould. Rust on bathroom radiator and hand rail. Shower does not drain properly, water runs up to the door of the bathroom. Hand towel had a stain. Horrible smell coming from under the sink. Kitchen bin with broken lid. Kettle and sink tap nasty with limescale. Discoloured teaspoons. Stained living area carpet. Stained footstool. Broken lamp shade. Shabby and bobbled cushions. Stained quilt & blood on pillow protector - only noticed when bed was stripped as requested. Scraped paintwork above bed and a bad paint job throughout property.
Comfortable bed and good location.
