Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe WIFI wasn't working, I had a deadline to meet, which I needed to use the internet to work but was disappointed. Also, the green door to enter into the executive wings need to be checked, you need to try swiping the cards several times before it can finally take it and open.
The room was really beautiful and we dont have anything against the room or cleanliness

United KingdomThe TV's in the bar area - Why? Found a table away from the TV's - I realise it is only my opinion, but in a rather upmarket setting, having TV's close to the bar area reduces it to the level of a sports bar. I was in room 115 which had several ceiling lights, and a bedside light not working. This ought to be reported by the cleaning staff on make-over and not a customer. Room was comfortable but noisy because the one double glazed window was past it's sell-by date, and unfortunately for me, overlooked the hotel service area which was noisy until late, and noisy again early in the morning. A definite negative. The view from 115 is a brick wall - luck of the draw I suppose. Discovered the kettle/tea/coffee etc. in a cupboard which also contained a clothes rail and a trouser press. Would have been more convenient [and obvious] on a decent tray on the writing desk next to the wall socket. Dirty cereal spoon at breakfast - dishwasher didn't do it and whoever set up the table didn't check.
Walk from the station was only a slow stroll of 10 minutes. Central location was perfect for our plans. The booking.com pictures of the hotel did not do it justice. From the online pics it might have been a shabby affair & had a Weatherspoons look about it - but as it turned out, it has to be one of the more upmarket hotels in Peterborough. Everything looked almost brand new and all the staff were in hotel uniform. Beautifully decorated throughout with quality carpets etc. We noticed the integral car park too which if we had driven, would have been free to park in and directly accessible from the reception. Plenty of seating in the extensive bar area which was similarly decorated very well with secluded table seating in places. No intrusive music. Breakfast was good with the usual help yourself cereals and hot food was served by staff at a servery. Staff were polite and cheerful.

United KingdomA bit dated in places. The postcode takes you to the front door rather than the car park. I heard several people talking about the same thing. You need to make it clear that the postcode for the car park is different.

GermanyWhen you looked out of the window, all you could see was a wall. There was also a humming or hissing noise all the time. I thought it was an air conditioning system running, but it wasn't. It wasn't coming from outside either, as closing the window had no effect. Lastly, unfortunately the internet was very weak. In a hotel of this price range I actually expect a corresponding internet.
Everything was pretty neat in this hotel. Some of the staff were super nice. However, one or two of them were a little condescending, so I thought real class was more likely to be found at 5 stars and real charm at 3 stars. But that aside, the breakfast was delicious once you understood how everything worked. Once you knew that, the waiters became friendlier. The atmosphere tried to be a little snobby but fortunately didn't succeed. The room itself was very nice.

United KingdomThe location on the Peterborough one way system meant that it was difficult to access the car park - when I went in to reception - having paid for parking elsewhere I was given very clear instructions which enabled me to get to the car park in the end. This information would have been more useful if given when the booking was made.
The room was generally good standard but like other hotels the TV didn't work because the batteries in the remote needed replacing.

United KingdomThe twin beds needed to be wheeled around a little as the only plug was hidden directly behind one of our beds. Not difficult to do at all as it all moved easily, but something to bear in mind if you're looking for one by the bed and can't see one!
We really enjoyed the size of the room and the location of the hotel, which was perfectly situated between the train station and the central cathedral. The entrance was very fancy and well tended to. Will be returning as the price was very good for a lovely room.
