expensive to stay for dinner + you have to book before 5pm, otherwise walk 10mins into town for dinner. odd attutude from the staff, very casual and low energy. also found pieces of broken glass in my breakfast dishes 🤷 not sure if thats a dishwasher problem or what.

close to the town if you dont mind a quick walk, good value for the price. Large rooms with a lift to the 1st floor which was good for luggage.

Very rough, uphill approach to hotel from public road. Those with heavy cases need a smooth path. Very stiff front door, made worse by being at the top of a set of steps.

Large comfortable room. Hot water was hot!

Breakfast was very chaotic. We may have attended at the peak time, but stuff were struggling to prepare tables and replenish hot food. Being a big and busy hotel, I think a booking systems for breakfast times is required.

Location, staff, parking, comfortable beds, lovely grounds with plenty of places to sit.

It all seemed quite disorganised - when we arrived to check in (during check-in hours) we were told our room wasn’t ready and they didn’t know how long it would be. Then they changed their minds and said it WAS ready. There was no toilet roll in our room so we had to trek back to reception, collect some and then walk through the hotel holding rolls of toilet paper. Lots of the facilities weren’t available: the dining room wasn’t running so no dinner or food available at the property. Snooker room was “under maintenance” so couldn’t be used. Staff were apologetic and very friendly but it was a bit disappointing that lots of the advertised facilities were unusable. At breakfast, vegetarian sausages had to be requested and cooked specially so there was a wait for that.

No one behind the bar, you had to search for someone every time you wanted a drink.

Unfortunately the hotel is let down by the unkept grounds, run down and tired looking interior. The food in the evening was just bad, only ate once and it gave my wife mild food poisoning. The way they run the evening meals is not good, having you book in for it and only having an hour slot, being told the "chefs need the order as they're going home soon" is not great.

I really liked how friendly and approachable the staff were, the location was brilliant for exploring the island.

A bit of dust around the headboard and a few cobwebs here and there, the window was condensated between the glass so view wasn't great and the birds in the ceiling tiles at the end of the hall was a bit distracting in the morning.

Bed was comfy, breakfast was nice with a ok selection of food and we'll cooked, staff were great and close to the beach.

Staff couldn't provide cutleries. Staff couldn't accommodate late check out even though I was ready to pay extra. Abrupt and didn't offer any other option like a day pass or to book another room.

The breakfast staff were unhelpful, didnt seat us at a table when sign clearly states to stand to be seated, Rhiannon just watched us stood there whilst she chatted, had to be told by a fellow guest that we just sit down, as we were sitting down Rhiannon looked at her phone and said we might get something cooked insinuating it came from the kitchen and not self serve. Then we sat there like idiots waiting to be served whilst no one told us that it was self serve. Again it was another guest who told us this. Otherwise, we would have been sat there. Breakfast disappointing! The next morning we arrived at breakfast and the staff seemed better than the previous day but an older lady dressed all in black who worked here kept picking at the food, shoving it in her mouth and eating it in clear view of the guests.

Great location, lovely hotel, clean room, quiet and peaceful. Slept well, lift access if needed.

Because it was an old building the paintwork in the dining room looked tired. The garden and hotel building appearance needed the attention of a good gardener and handyman.

Breakfast was more than enough. The view outside of the dining room seemed a bit uncared for unless it was meant to be "No mow May".

The car-park is the only negative about this location - it is simply not adequate for the number of guests the hotel could potentially accommodate at any one time.

Buffet style breakfast/great location/various indoor & outdoor seating areas with great opportunity to sight red squirrels.
