Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom lacked shelving/drawer space. OK for a one night stay. Pillows rather bulky and firm. Bathroom lacked hooks and shelf near whb. Access to room via external door.
Good location to visit sites in the area. Easy walk into town centre. Good breakfast menu. Well cooked. Good service. Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Interesting style of decor - French shabby chic. Room serviced daily during our stay. Good tea/coffee and use of a fridge.

United KingdomThe only point to raise was that the mattress in our room was a little uncomfortable. Maybe a thicker mattress topper would be a good idea.
The accommodation was tastefully decorated taking into account the age of the building and maximising the old features. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomIt was on main road and our bedroom was on that side of building so quite noisy.
Lovely warm welcome from Connor who showed us to our room and was there for breakfast every morning. Lovely small touches like a small bottle of milk, biscoff biscuits, chocolates and nice toiletries. We did eat there first night, but we were the only people in there. Food was cooked Lovely , hot and the staff very obliging.

United KingdomThe room was very warm even with turning the heating completely off and trying to fathom the AC. On moving the pillows the headboard fabric is in absolute bits and really does need attention. The kettle needs throwing away its way past being rescued by oust, the limescale is so bad. A green light similar to an emergency exit sign illuminated the room at night and also as the toilet is on a sensor and there are gaps in the lovely wooden door, once the toilet has been used again light illuminated the room at night.
This is such a pretty little place, shabby chic decor is right up my street. Our first impressions were great as we were met by a very friendly, welcoming member of staff. Food was great . Right next door is a petrol station which is actually quite handy if you fancy grabbing snacks or drinks for your room. There’s a fantastic selection of teas in the room, fresh milk and waters in the fridge.

United KingdomOnly a small thing - the pillows were very firm. Personal preference is a softer pillow. Maybe one firm and one softer would be a good idea. Nothing else.
Perfect location for the theatre in Aylesbury and Waddesdon Manor. The room was beautifully decorated, with good quality bedding, and supplied with everything you needed. Toiletries of good quality, bathroom and shower excellent, loved having a fridge with fresh milk. Our room was very quiet. Little noise from a very busy road. Staff were very approachable and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely stay.

This hotel was an unexpected joy. Extremely well situated for my work at the Crown Court it sits next door to the Police Station and near Stoke Mandeville Hospital. It’s about 10 minutes level walk to the Rail Station, Theatre and Town Centre. It’s in an historic building sympathetically restored. My bedroom (pictured) was to die for. It had a good shower and all expected features but with great attention to detail such as fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was included. I also had a lunch, dinner and afternoon tea (this was a working holiday after all!!). Each one was delicious. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and respectful of each other. There was a friendly and great vibe with patrons spontaneously chatting with each other. The venue does conferences at very attractive rates and I would love to book it for a party. Very much looking forward to coming back (especially when the wisteria is in full bloom

United KingdomIt’s on a busy road! The traffic started at about 5am and is loud. I would suggest heavy curtains as well as the shutters. It would also be a very good idea to leave guests earplugs.
The good was excellent, although slow coming, but I appreciate it is all freshly cooked. The bars are very comfortable. The staff were all v friendly.

United KingdomHave stayed before & will again as we visit relatives down the road. But the biggest issue is the inconvenience of walking all the way round the outside to access the bar & dining room. Especially at night & in the cold & wet, to get a drink to take to your room. It needs a rethink. There is a back door but not used. It's the only thing that spoils it for us
Great breakfast & service despite the staff member being on her own. We had to wait a while but she handled things very well
