Noisy music from the pub doesn’t make for a good night sleep but apparently there were quieter rooms Wasn’t aware also of it being on a very busy noisy road

    Quirky

Accommodation made up for location. Had I researched the location I would probably not have booked which would have been a shame. I get very annoyed if I feel someone is trying to scam me we ate in the pub, the food was excellent but I was extremely annoyed that a 10% service charge was added without this being made clear at the outset. Furthermore it is buried in tiny small print at the bottom of the menu making it feel like a deliberate deception. This spoilt my impression of the company.

Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Room was slightly smaller than expected. Decor style and execution was very professional

I stayed two nights but my room wasn’t made up for 2nd day. Front rooms do have a slight road noise from 6.00am Not sure how often the menu changes but as I stay here regularly I can’t recall the last menu change

Great room and en suite. Easy parking and great team I enjoy staying here and am booked for two more nights in Dec

Noise. Based at the main street and next to a 24h petrol station. And can also hear staff members closing up the pub.

I liked that there were wood window shutters, quality bed sheets, good water pressure.

I found the room very clean and a good size. Only downfall was that the room was in a courtyard behind the hotel, which I had to walk a few meters in the cold and rain to eat and drink in the restaurant.

I found the staff friendly and service was good.

Not in the most idyllic setting as on a main road next door to a petrol station but very convenient to walk into the centre of Aylesbury and was not bothered by traffic noise. Staff were also super friendly and room was lovely so we really enjoyed our stay

The building and our room were both lovely and staff very friendly and welcoming

The only draw back was having to walk all around the outside of the building to get to the bar/restaurant.

We dined here before going to the theatre. We had slow cook lamb which was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was well cooked with a good cup of tea.

Breakfast was not served until 8am and we had paid for breakfast and needed to leave by 7 to catch train to London. We were offered 2 small Ind cereal boxes as substitute. Surely they need a more substantial offering instead of a cooked breakfast ? We were heading for a long day in London and needed some food. The kitchen should be open make earlier if offering breakfast ? If you on a work trip you would need breakfast early ? The road was quite noisy but luckily we live on a busy road.

Lots of character , lovely room. Free parking. High quality coffee , tea in room and bottled water in fridge .

Low ceilings, but I am 6ft 4. Carpet in the public areas could do with a clean.

    The long wait

There was quite a long wait for the breakfast but had cereals while waiting. Ordered the eggs Benedict but they were out of a muffins and hollandaise sauce, which are the main part. Had to settle for toast, but got two slices of toast and two poached eggs.

Very small things, but would have been lovely to have some bubble bath and there were quite a few dishes unavailable at dinner and no smoked salmon at breakfast. Also for any one tall our room would have been challenging as very low ceilings, but beautiful beams! My husband struggled a bit!

Loved the beautiful split level room with mezzanine bathroom and amazing copper bath, pub food was delicious and staff were very welcoming and accommodating. So kind of them to upgrade our room and leave a bottle of prosecco in the room as we were celebrating my birthday. Location was perfect for going to a gig at the Riverside theatre and walking into town. Nice to ditch the car for the weekend!

can't think of much really. I think a recent flood had caused some issues in the cellar and kitchen as there were no draught beers and quite a few of the meals on the menu were unavailable on our stay.. Just unfortunate wet weather flood effected the variety available. What we had was good and piping hot.

Early breakfast required and was there waiting at 8am prompt. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Very tidy well appointed room. Comfortable bed although we found it a bit hot and the owner? manager? said that if we go again, let them know and they would put a lighter duvet on. Excellent.

Menu for dinner was ultra limited in choice.. Supplier issues. No cooked breakfast. Noise from guest room. door banging The King Superior Room's bed mattress was uncomfortable, too thin. We booked as a treat, meal out with a stop over and breakfast cooked for us. Feel like we were let down.

Breakfast chef didn't arrive. Staff served toast. Cereals and juice available.
