Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAccommodation made up for location. Had I researched the location I would probably not have booked which would have been a shame. I get very annoyed if I feel someone is trying to scam me we ate in the pub, the food was excellent but I was extremely annoyed that a 10% service charge was added without this being made clear at the outset. Furthermore it is buried in tiny small print at the bottom of the menu making it feel like a deliberate deception. This spoilt my impression of the company.
Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Room was slightly smaller than expected. Decor style and execution was very professional

United KingdomNoise. Based at the main street and next to a 24h petrol station. And can also hear staff members closing up the pub.
I liked that there were wood window shutters, quality bed sheets, good water pressure.

United KingdomI found the room very clean and a good size. Only downfall was that the room was in a courtyard behind the hotel, which I had to walk a few meters in the cold and rain to eat and drink in the restaurant.
I found the staff friendly and service was good.

United KingdomNot in the most idyllic setting as on a main road next door to a petrol station but very convenient to walk into the centre of Aylesbury and was not bothered by traffic noise. Staff were also super friendly and room was lovely so we really enjoyed our stay

United KingdomThe only draw back was having to walk all around the outside of the building to get to the bar/restaurant.
We dined here before going to the theatre. We had slow cook lamb which was excellent. The breakfast in the morning was well cooked with a good cup of tea.

United KingdomBreakfast was not served until 8am and we had paid for breakfast and needed to leave by 7 to catch train to London. We were offered 2 small Ind cereal boxes as substitute. Surely they need a more substantial offering instead of a cooked breakfast ? We were heading for a long day in London and needed some food. The kitchen should be open make earlier if offering breakfast ? If you on a work trip you would need breakfast early ? The road was quite noisy but luckily we live on a busy road.
Lots of character , lovely room. Free parking. High quality coffee , tea in room and bottled water in fridge .

United KingdomThe long wait
There was quite a long wait for the breakfast but had cereals while waiting. Ordered the eggs Benedict but they were out of a muffins and hollandaise sauce, which are the main part. Had to settle for toast, but got two slices of toast and two poached eggs.

United KingdomVery small things, but would have been lovely to have some bubble bath and there were quite a few dishes unavailable at dinner and no smoked salmon at breakfast. Also for any one tall our room would have been challenging as very low ceilings, but beautiful beams! My husband struggled a bit!
Loved the beautiful split level room with mezzanine bathroom and amazing copper bath, pub food was delicious and staff were very welcoming and accommodating. So kind of them to upgrade our room and leave a bottle of prosecco in the room as we were celebrating my birthday. Location was perfect for going to a gig at the Riverside theatre and walking into town. Nice to ditch the car for the weekend!

United Kingdomcan't think of much really. I think a recent flood had caused some issues in the cellar and kitchen as there were no draught beers and quite a few of the meals on the menu were unavailable on our stay.. Just unfortunate wet weather flood effected the variety available. What we had was good and piping hot.
Early breakfast required and was there waiting at 8am prompt. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Very tidy well appointed room. Comfortable bed although we found it a bit hot and the owner? manager? said that if we go again, let them know and they would put a lighter duvet on. Excellent.

Noise from guest room. door banging The King Superior Room's bed mattress was uncomfortable, too thin. We booked as a treat, meal out with a stop over and breakfast cooked for us. Feel like we were let down.
