24 hours travelling from America to Manchester airport and then to Hucknall, totally jetlagged. We had spent time there in May 2023, a nice quiet room, this time we were in Room 4, ABSOLUTELY AWEFUL IN SO MANY WAYS!!! First, we saw that the driveway was being pulled up, a new driveway was to be installed, the receptionist upon arrival had said we could have any room, when we told her of the long journey and hoped it was away from all the noise outside, she laughed and gave us Room 4, the one closest to the noise. She said the noise would last 20-30 minutes, it lasted way longer than that. The room was tiny, met in the bathroom by some spiders, and you can hear people clearly walking passed the room door. A young guy was upstairs, it sounded like an elephant as he walked around his room, and woke us up twice in the night as he went to the toilet, it was mega loud. In summary, we were so tired, not nice receptionist, terrible noisy room from outside driveway and upstairs, we were ready to go elsewhere! Good review then followed, as we moved rooms the following day. Also, in May the wifi was non-existent, this time it was just poor, again the horrible person who greeted us on our first day of arrival just laughed at the crappy wifi.

If you read the bad review (below) for Room 4, things changed after that. Natalie and her wonderful cleaning crew remembered my husband from our visit there in May 2023, we were to visit friends in Nuneaton that day, however if we waited until the room was ready, she offered us to move into a much bigger room, away from all the noise from the digging up of the driveway, (we did not even ask). Not sure if it was Room 9, however the room was fantastic for our needs, it was large enough to hold our four huge suitcases and hand luggage, a lovely large desk for writing, and a view of the grass and trees of which we saw a fox come one evening, and you could not hear anyone moving about upstairs, a huge transformation from Room 4. The cleaning crew were fantastic, (sorry I have forgotten the names again), they were all so friendly, and did an awesome job each and every day, we even told them one day not to bother cleaning, then we came back to a wonderful clean place again, thanks girls!!!! We decided to have breakfast each day, halfway through the stay we realised we could change up the full English breakfast, so we picked and choosed what we preferred on the plate. Everything there was clean and well presented, and the staff in the week and separately on the weekends were awesome. As long as you never pick Room 4 or anything close to it, then I am sure your stay will be wonderful.

The room felt a little small, and the TV didn’t work properly. Seemed like a signal issue. The Cloud wifi also didn’t work. Thankfully I have unlimited data on my iPhone

The cutlery and plates at the restaurant were not very clean. Also, the pricing for meals not very clear - I received a phone call after checking out to tell me I owed money for my daughter's breakfast despite the fact that my booking stated that a 'very good' breakfast was included in the price.
