To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomIt's dirty. Toe nail clippings on floor in bedroom, various hairs in the bathroom. Cups in bedroom were dusty so again not clean. Staff don't seem happy really. Breakfast was ok but not very hot. Kettle on bar and coffee sachets. They have a big coffee machine but it's not available.

The staff were very friendly lovely and nice and welcoming, they even went the extra mile when there was a mistake with drinks as there was a problem when pouring pepsi. Also really loved the 20% discount for main meals for those who are staying.

Great location very close to Bournville village and Edgebaston cricket stadium is a single straight line bus ride, Stirchley is good for a Birmingham Balti. The location is noisy because of traffic and a pedestrian crossing beeping all the time. But close the windows and the noise has gone.

United KingdomMy room was right next to the hotel entrance, where there are benches and people tend to smoke here. I kept my blind shut to avoid the problem, but net curtains might have made me feel as though I could have the blind up, too.
Clean and tidy room. Staff were as friendly as they always have been when I've stayed here. Pleased to see the restaurant has changed up its menu to include some different veggie options!

United KingdomJust a very minor gripe that the location of the toilet roll holder is above the sistern in the bathrooms which is a rather awkward location.
This is the 4th or 5th time we've stayed at the Bournbrook Inn visiting daughter at university. A very quick visit this time arriving late and leaving early. Room and bathroom spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Had a good night's sleep. No breakfast this time.

We had a very comfortable stay in a lovely clean room with a spotless bathroom. There were a range of restaurants on the doorstep. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The relatively new management team is working hard to ensure a great standard and it shows!
