Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFor a double executive room as it was described the room 103 was tiny with no drawer space for our clothes. The en suite especially the shower was even smaller and we are not excessively tall or overweight. The controls for the shower had no markings for on/off and more importantly for temperature and with a very large shower head I very nearly scalded myself while trying to work out how to use the shower without glasses. There was also no shaver socket.
Hotel is very clean and well appointed. The staff were helpful, the bed was very comfortable and breakfasts were excellent. Its location is very convenient for the underground.

AustraliaRoom was TINY. This may be a thing in London but I was a bit shocked how small the room was. But was fine for somewhere to sleep and keep my suitcase
Fantastic location and the building was nice and clean. Always staff on the front desk and they were very helpful and friendly. Staff taking orders for breakfast worked quickly to take orders and deliver food so I could get on with my busy day. I’d recommend this hotel.

United KingdomThe bathroom was extremely small, and the water basin was so ridiculous that we could not wash our faces or brush our teeth without pouring water all over the floor. I made a mistake with the booking without realising it until I got there. But it was very expensive for 1 night without breakfast.
Very clean room and hotel. Modernised and pleasant. The location was superb, very convenient for families with small children as it is a few hundred metres from Earl's court underground station. Quiet street, so we slept very well without noise from some of the central parts in London.

South AfricaRoom was extremely small even though we booked the Executive Double room (supposedly 4m2 bigger than the STD room). There was only 20cm between the desk and the edge of the bed, so we had to go in a sideways manner to access the far side of the bed (we are normal sized people). There was nowhere to put our suitcases and we were traveling to the UK from abroad, so had medium sized cases. They could redesign the desk in our room to configure the room better.
Nicely furnished, clean accommodation in a quiet street. The bed was comfortable for us. Entrance area to the hotel and the breakfast room were lovely - in fact the breakfasts were very yummy. Easy, easy access to Earls Court tube station.

GermanyMy only remark would be towards the cleaning personal, who was doing a great job cleaning the bathroom the first few days of our stay but then started neglecting some things and didn’t provide us with new rolls of toilet paper (we had to ask at reception for it) when clearly it was visible that it had finished.
We had the nicest experience with Mornington Kensington! The hotel is located in a very nice area - it is close to the tube, but it’s also ideal if you like to explore the picturesque surroundings by foot. Our room was nice and clean. An iron, hair dryer and toiletries were available in the room. We were even lucky to have a view towards the street with all the beautiful houses. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. On check-out they can safely store your luggage if you have a late flight or departure.

GermanyRooms, while good organized and comfortable were rather small and the size of the sink in the bathroom was a drawback. It was so small that it became nonfunctional for anything besides hand-washing. A few more hooks on the walls or in the bathroom would also be helpful.
The hotel was new, tidy, and modern, making it a pleasant place to be a guest. Although the standard rooms were small, they were clean and mostly comfortable. The hotel team was amazing. We felt very much "seen" and welcomed, as we were always warmly greeted and asked if there was anything we needed assistance with. We really liked the breakfast offerings. The ability to order several dishes à la carte meant we enjoyed a different breakfast every day during our five-day stay. Everything was fresh and of good quality. The service team at breakfast was also great—super quick and helpful. The hotel's location was very convenient. Situated in Zone 1, it was near a metro station with two lines, one of which goes directly to the airport, and both go to the city. Additionally, it’s located in Kensington, allowing us to walk (30 minutes) to Hyde Park and Kensington Palace through the beautiful neighborhood.

AustraliaRooms are small but that’s often London. Staff were amazing overall except for one staff member who begrudgingly helped me with my 3 heavy bags after 22 hours of travel and then just left me in the lift to manage by myself. Very disappointing!

United KingdomI hope the other rooms in the property are better but long story short, avoid LG (lower ground floor) rooms at any cost: - this is probably not uncommon for London, but the room was tiny for the money I paid. If you are claustrophobic, you better consider paying more and staying at a Hilton. - a blind on my window was malfunctioning and I could not raise it to let whatever a pittance of daylight I can get in a lower ground room. - the pipes were making a lot of noise - for example I woke up every time a guest upstairs flushed the toilet or washed their hands. Not sure if it is specific just to the room I was staying at but I could hear these noises all night long as the pipes are somewhere in the wall behind the bed's headboard. - staying at a room below the ground level is just generally dreadful - it would be fair to offer them at a lower price, but well it's London and customers are ready to compromise, unfortunately.
There are several things that are worth commendation: + breakfast was a great value for money. Breakfast team members were nice, pleasant and attentive. + location is wonderful, just 4 minutes walking from Earl's Court and 9 minutes walking from Brompton West overground station which makes it perfect for anyone attending an event at London Olympia. + staff at check-in were nice and helpful too. When I said I was unhappy with the room I got (I was checking in at 18:00 and they seemed to be fully booked), they demonstrated willingness to mitigate for it in different ways. + water pressure was pleasantly high, bathroom facilities new and clean and Rituals products (shampoo, handwash) were a nice bonus.

PortugalNo AC for cold air, we were melting in that room. The elevator is ridiculously small, if you can, take the stairs. Although it was recently renovated, the bathrooms were tiny and things were falling apart in the shower and the toilet roll holder as well...

United KingdomHonestly, the size of the shower. We had a corner stall with a waterfall showerhead that was set up too far out - we had to tilt the head inwards so that our back/face wasn't millimeters from the shower doors. We then had to make sure the shower head was set back in place so that we could open the shower doors... It was better made into a wet room. I'd recommend those on the taller and/or heavier side to check shower dimensions before booking (if possible). Another thing to note is that the lift is also quite small. One of us and our one suitcase was all that could fit, which didn't bother us but is still something to mention.
The location was fantastic with a reasonable price - it was a two-minute walk from Earl's Court tube station. The bed was very comfortable, the room nice and cool, and the view peaceful from our window (we were on the 4th floor). Having 24/7 staff also gave us reassurance. Even with the one issue we had, we would come back for another stay.

SpainThe room was in the lower ground and the window faced the trash area, with many litter bags piling against our wall (see picture). This is the reason I do not give 10 points
