I asked for a bigger bed because we are both tall & on day of arrival, I had twisted my back and was in serious pain. They said all the beds were king size but I measured it and it was 4'6" which is a standard double. They may put king size bedding on the beds but the actual bed was small /standard double.

4pm check in is rather mean and there needs to be instructions for the in room coffee machine. Food is on the expensive side.

The room was spotlessly clean and very homely. The outside area was perfect for a drunk day or night and there are covered areas and also heaters in one section. The staff are lovely.

The option of an international dish would be nice on the evening menu or as a special option. All the desserts on the menu were very rich it would be nice to have a lighter option or be able to have a mini version & coffee like some other restaurants offer.

A good choice for breakfast & evening meal, we didn’t have to wait long for the food to be served, polite waiter / waitress. Restaurant area is welcoming & relaxing with music playing in the background in the mornings. Always plenty of parking spaces.

A definite cut above most other pubs with rooms. When in the room in a separate annex, it felt like you were in a hotel and then there was a nice buzz in the pub for eating. All staff were very welcoming and very dog friendly. The food was excellent.

Going home after only 2 nights there

Our room was absolutely fabulous. Both Breakfast and dinner both nights were first class and the dining room was very well decorated and comfy - all staff were excellent throughout our stay. Particularly enjoyed our lengthy chat with the hotel's owner Steve during our second night in the restaurant when he joined our table after we finished our meal - he is a real character with lots to tell

Nothing, or maybe us arriving earlier and not having to leave early in the morning. I wanted to explore the place so will most likely be back

I was overjoyed with how lovely it was. We were stuck in traffic and the girl waited up for us, until after midnight, until we finally arrived. The room was beautiful, she had put the lamps on for us getting in and left hot chocolate all ready for us to boil the kettle. Thank you so much, what a beautiful and relaxed end to an horrendous day lol And for what we paid this was 10 x better than what we expected And the wee room names and antiquities and curios were the sparkle on top 😇

Very picky just breakfast could be 7.30 start not 8.00am but the breakfast was fresh and made to order.

Last minute booking. No places in the big chains of hotels. And then this came up, a lot cheaper and near to where I was ready for the next working day. Closer than the big chains could offer. Set in a nice little village. 4 minutes off the motorway.

Fantastic country pub and restaurant, the positive reviews I'd read prior to booking turned out to be fully justified. Very friendly welcome, nice bar, room (Desert Orchid) was clean, very comfortable bed with separate bath, large tv and well thought out extras with the drinks facilities. Food exceptional, dinner choices aplenty and top notch, faultless cooking. Steak perfect, and liver and bacon from the Specials menu was melt in the mouth quality. Staff clearly well trained and coped very efficiently on a busy Saturday night. Breakfast lived up to expectations as well. Overall a superbly run establishment which should be proud of their efforts. Location for A1 and expansive car park also on the long list of positives. Look forward to staying again.

For the £20 dog fee would expect something such as water bowl, biscuits etc. seemed this was just for the sake of it… maybe cleaning bill?!

Great location. Lovely styled rooms and big bathroom. Nice beer garden area. Food quality great and good value. Restaurant looked nice, had to eat in bar due to dog but still good.

Might be a bit far off the beaten track for some but that it a lovely quiet location.

Room was in a converted cottage attached to the inn. Friendly staff. Excellent pub grub and well stocked bar.

The bacon was a little to well cooked for our liking my house and would of liked a light over the bathroom mirror in order to shave easier in morning re light
