The food wasn't great, £16.45 for a sharing platter which had random numbers of items which would have really feed one person! Two very small tacos which were tasty. Breakfast wasn't great, very unorganised and no continental pastries available as advertised. Scrambled egg was like a piece of paper, inedible and the food took a long time to come out on both occasions.

The room was clean and the location was prime. The breakfast was not only lovely it had more options than I was expecting. All the staff I'd encountered were friendly and helpful. I liked the extra touches such as a note from housekeeping. I would absolutely choose to stay here again.

Breakfast was disappointing, continental was not kept topped up, had to keep asking for missing items, cooked breakfast took a long time to come out, everything tasted chargrilled, staff were friendly but just one member of staff for the whole of breakfast serving

En-suite had some water damage which looks like it makes it difficult to clean well, but appreciate this is a common problem in hotels

Room was spacious and well equipped -loved that there was an iron and ironing board. Everything worked great in the en-suite and room and we appreciated the large bottles of shampoo and shower gel- much better for the environment than the mini bottles! Good range of options for cooked breakfast and we were served quickly. Staff were really welcoming and helpful-would definitely stay again!

There was some mould along bathroom tiles and shower lacked pressure. Quite cold in the room and bed side plugs didn't work.

Room was fine with comfortable beds. Bathroom excellent. Only had breakfast but this was very good. The place looks like it could do with a bit of sprucing up, a little tired looking.

Bar staff on the evening refused to serve us and said the bar was shut. It was 22:40 and she had just served other people.

you asked but I don't moan and wouldn't say these things until specifically questioned... no place to put your shampoo/shower wash except floor i couldn't face going up and down those stairs for a hairdryer but fan was good did curtain blind actually work water was tepid for instant coffee - filter coffee machine better ?

Looking forward to our morning breakfast but due to staff shortage no cooked breakfast. But offered a refund on that, not.sure if that's happen yet.

Unfortunately, the pub part is lacking a needed upgrade. No staff. Manager wandering around in a track suit. Very sad for a hotel that was once the best!!

Cleanliness needed more attention in bathrooms. Downstairs look tired and needs some work. Breakfast was ok, but arrived cold one day.

Bedrooms were nicely decorated and very spacious. Hotel was right in the centre of town and very good for public transport. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Made us feel very welcome.

Great central location. Very much an old pub feel but staff were nice and friendly and the room comfortable. We were next to the centre of the pub on the first floor and our view was of about 12 heat pumps. Unfortunately our window was open so on the hottest day of the year we had full on heat pumping in!! A staff member did help sort out the a/c but it was really hot. The kitchen closed about 7:30pm which was fine, we ordered early and the food was nice. Nothing flash but fine for what we wanted. The room and bathroom were clean, the bathroom was a bit tired but had all we needed for a simple overnight stay. I’d stay again if visiting family there again.

Good, clean room with excellent facilities. Central location. Unassuming facade gives way to contemporary features inside. Good value for money.
