Lovely little pub in a charming location

The only problem was the wi fi. I had an important zoom meeting and it simply was not goode enough. I had to use my phone as a hotspot which will cost me a fortune..

The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The food at the pub was simple but excellent both for dinner and breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The breakfast at the Bell was very yummy, in a pretty pub setting with lots of light. The hosts were gracious and kind and did an outstanding job of welcoming us properly!

The duvet was very thick and warm for May but would definitely be great if it was winter. We were also in the far room (on the street end) and it was very noisy with passers by with it being on street level and the single glazing.

Decent storage for a small room and a good shower although the shower door was a little tricky to shut. Good quality bedding and great it had an iron and ironing board too. Lovely little touches like the home made shortbread and sloe gin made us feel very welcomed. There was also a great little mini bar and snacks in the room. I also liked the plastic free eco teabags!!

While the room was nice, it was very small and the narrow, windy staircase made it difficult to get too, especially when carrying bags. There was quite a bit of noise from the street below. The size of the room was the main issue. Two people couldn’t occupy the same area, it was that tight. The bathroom was very nice, with a great shower, but there was no shelf to place toiletries - so items either had to be left in the bedroom or on a small surface down by the toilet.

Rooms nicely decorated and property conveniently located. Great breakfast (which was available between 8 and 10 at the weekend, from the Bell pub down the road).

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like as the staff were all friendly and accommodating. If you needed anything they were on hand to supply it. We couldn’t fault the place.

The location is beautiful and easy for getting to other destinations. We had two full days and covered four different places in that time. Breakfast was very good value for money with a great choice. The room was cosy and had everything required for a short stay. We had dinner as well which was good.

    There wasn’t anything I didn’t like

The room was small but had everything we needed and extra for a one night stay. It was a great location. The breakfast was superb although a vegetarian option would have also been nice.

    Nothing.

We stayed two nights re a family wedding. The rooms were very small but were acceptable as we only slept and showered there. You could not spend any time relaxing in your room.

The Squirrel room is very very small. Not suitable for 2 people. The check-in is a bit confusing too. The booking was for the Bell and Stuart House but we had to check in at another location called The Bell. No real problems once we figured that out. Lovely stay.

Really beautiful decor and great location. Beautiful bathroom and good bed. It is a charming place with safe parking and a quiet sleep.

Was not very clean, a glass was left unwashed, free cookie taste like it’s been there for months. Shower was cold, and it’s not close to the pub where you check in

    Decoration was lovely

Wouldn’t say didn’t like, found a few big cobwebs and could do with some touching up in places

Was a great little setting, with some nice touches around the room including a great mini bar and snacks that you could use. Wife was impressed that they supplied high quality hair straighteners. Great coffee also supplied

The obscure glass door to the bathroom seemed a strange choice.

Parking was very limited. We were woke up by the sound of hoovering at 7am on a Sunday morning which was disappointing.

Hotel was beautiful and food was very nice. Room was small but contained everything we needed, even a pair of straighteners. Nice touches such as homemade biscuit and fresh milk available in the fridge. Staff were really friendly throughout. Towels were of lovely quality and a good size which was fab!! Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower.

The only improvement I could suggest would be reading lamps in the room, everything else was fantastic.

Lovely rooms, they very kindly upgraded us to a bigger for 2 nights of our stay as the room we had booked was very small, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was ideal.

Overall excellent, just missing a mirror in the bedroom and an extra seat due to size of room.

Great location and lovely clean spacious room. We were upgraded upon arrival and loved our stay in an attic style room. We stayed in Stuart House which had private parking and was in the centre of town. Breakfast the next morning was great! Definitely recommend!
