Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe attic is above a garage and has a steep pitch so in the main space even quite short people can only stand up fully in about the middle 1 metre along the length of the room. A bed without a solid end would be better so you could get on from the end instead of having to crouch over and shimmy along the side of the bed. Only place to hang damp beach towels was on the coat hooks near the front door - the garden available is across a road. Only other place to hang any clothes is from the window handles. No mirror near plug socket. Banister had a sharp corner that’s easy to snag clothes on. We stayed for 2 nights and got a bid fed up with the lack of space.
Good location close to pebbly beach and town, nice walk into town day or evening, clean room, comfortable mattress, good shower, little fridge, quiet location.

United KingdomFor me the only downside to the property was the blind for the window in the roof which is right over the bed was broken. So as soon as the sun was up it was very bright inside the room, which this time of year is very early!.
Location was perfect for visiting friends in Selsey. The property was very clean and the hosts were very good at contacting me with details about check in. It is near to all the amenities in the village, and not far from the beach. Perfect for myself as a solo traveller for a nights stay!

United KingdomA personal observation only. The description of 'suite' indicated space and self-contained. As 2 adventurous, young and tall 75 year olds, we wouldn't have booked if we had known the roof pitch so constricting, and that the toilet was down scary stairs, particularly at night! Banister rails could be re- positioned to assist descent, for those who need them.
The Attic was quirky, different, and near the seaside. It is a good idea to use garage roof space. Good text instructions are much appreciated.

United KingdomReceived arrival information a day after arriving, but I don't think that was the hosts fault, but probably some technical glitch. Not enough toilet paper and handsoap was there but empty. Luckily shop 10min away and we left the rest for the next people, so should not have the same issue. Place is OK, but may need a bit of TLC in the near future, i.e walls have stains, blinds not fixed to window, mould starting in shower, but all just minor for now. With a bit of work it can be great . Fridge is VERY loud at night, but still useful. Tricky to get in and out of bed, due to the low ceiling.
Cornflakes and milk was a nice gesture Location was perfect. Would stay again for a night or two but too small for longer stay.

New ZealandThere really isn’t much room to stand up in the attic area, and as we are quite tall it wasn’t the best for us. However it was advertised as attic suite with pictures so we were fine with it.

United KingdomUnfortunately there was only 1 small bath towel for 2 of us to use plus 2 small hand towels. There was no washing items, as in any shower gel/shampoo etc. Myself and my fiancé are both tall and we kept hitting our heads on the ceiling as they slope but obviously that's not the hosts fault.
When we arrived we rang the ring doorbell of the main house and even though the hosts weren't home they told us the key was in the door of the attic (converted garage). Overall the whole place was extremely clean and tidy. There was everything anyone would need as in kettle, mini fridge, TV, toaster, tea/coffee, cereal, pint of milk, sink.

United KingdomThe shower & facilities are very compact indeed, so if you're a taller soul, you will have to be mindful of the limited headroom.
The Attic Suite is a short walk from the beach, and easy walking distance from some lovely pubs and local shops. It's an intimate little space, perfect for a couple or solo traveller to enjoy a night or two away from the hustle & bustle of daily life. Peace & quiet is easily come by here.
