Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSpecify room name in booking (there’s 5, had to work out via key boxes)
Clean, tidy, superb location. Ideal fora stop over. Price was on a par with other BnBs we stayed at on our trip but did not include breakfast. Could have made up for this with complimentary refreshments in the fridge perhaps? Still very good though, would recommend.

United KingdomThe shower makes a bit of a whine , wasn't sure if it disturbed any other guests hopefully not
It was a very tidy room right in the heart of my hometown and was really nice to wake up and be at the harbour in less than 5 minutes ,despite being near the main road was so so quiet. Was perfect for what I needed

Absolutely wonderful. Superb location in a beautiful little village in Cornwall. Located just 50 feet from the harbour. Fresh bakery, shops, pubs, bars and restaurants on the doorstep but also no noise disturbance. The shower was also absolutely fantastic!

United KingdomThe Artist Loft was a great place to stay in Porthleven near all the restaurants, shops and the pretty harbour. The room was attractively decorated, very comfortable and a great place to rest after a day on the coast path. The shower was hot and very powerful, and the TV worked well for watching the paralympics! Plus, I left my shoes behind by accident and the staff very kindly posted them on.

United KingdomCan’t fault it.
Very clean, bright and airy room. Comfy bed, nice big bathroom with a shower with good water pressure. The flat is above a cafe called the Twisted Currant and we went there most mornings, their food is lovely! Free parking as the room comes with a parking permit and the car park isn’t far to walk. It was really warm while we were staying and the room came with fans which is a bonus. We will definitely be back!

United KingdomAd implies it's a b & b but it's not. It's an unmanned apartment block with essentially hotel rooms. Wasn't an issue for me but wasn't what I was expecting. The noise however was an issue, the windows offer very little in the way of sound proofing, and the building has none. I could hear traffic from the main road outside as well as every time someone flushed a toilet, showered or even used an electric toothbrush! I'm a deep sleeper and even I was frequently disturbed, I know of many people who would barely have slept.
Lovely location, comfy bed and nice harbour view

United KingdomRoom smaller than appeared in the photo, and a bit cramped. Also the window looks out on a shared patio, so no privacy if people are right outside! Wasn't expecting that.
Location was superb. We only had one night, and it did us fine. Breakfast was very good (though chairs a bit uncomfortable!)

United KingdomThe age of the building means every noise from the other guests are transferred to the "loe room", especially when guests fail to be quiet, though courtesy to others is really forgotten these days. The room also abuts to the 'guest area' if you want an early night or a lay in, you're not getting one here if the same levels of courtesy are offered by others. Also the window cannot be secured when its opened, so it cannot be left on vent, if others vape it blows into the room. The window is fitted with a lock, but no key provided. The bed for a large double isnt, its also a poor quality frame that squeaks with every roll on the bed. General room design is POOR, a table to sit at that is blocked by a fridge. A wardrobe big enough for a shirt and a pair of jeans [ i jest but even a PremierInn has more storage and theirs is minimal]. Lots of other daft mistakes made in the layout of the room, lack of free sockets, a lack of mirrors where those needing make up and hair to be done cant, poor lighting in bathroom. The curtains are too thin for a bright early morning, if you like a lay in, use the bed cover to darken the curtains, you may get to sleep on past the elephants in the hallway!
The location was ideal for our stay in Porthleven for the night. The benefit of a parking space provided in the SHipyard area was a real benefit that hadnt been made clear at booking. THough in the low season Porthelven was hardly busy. Great location for exploring the village, partaking the hospitality venues in the area and having a chilled night away. The loe room shower was very good, however the pressure makes the pipes knock in the cupboard outside and this is transmitted in to the loe room when the occupants of the property shower.
