The room was damp and musty smelling when we arrived. We told the lady as soon as we walked in the room and she said she had a cold so couldn’t smell it but would speak to the owner. The lady later said they had been closed for a week so that was why the room had an odour but we should open the patio door to let the room air. This should have been done in advance of guests arriving.

Unfortunately our original booking was cancelled due to a double booking. The Arran was virtually next door and the man on reception couldn't do enough for us, he even gave us a room upgrade as we'd had a bad experience at the original property. The room was exceptional and there were complementary snacks and drinks in the room.

All staff were really friendly and welcoming, the room and bed were super comfortable and there was a lovely selection of treats to welcome me. Even though I didn't have an en suite (the option was available for an additional price) both the room and separate bathroom were fantastic, clean and perfect for my needs so it did not negatively impact my stay. Will definitely stay here again, great location as well.

With it being an extremely small room, a few more hanging hooks or rail would have helped as we had to make do with clothes on the floor. I wouldn't recommend this room for a longer stay but one night was OK

From start to finish this was excellent. The communication was excellent, they accommodated a later check out, super fresh coffee and fruit in the morning. Lovely room, lovely bathroom and toiletries. All round just lovely.

The staff were very kind and helpful. I had a very extravagant request and they were able to fulfil it and they went above and beyond. The room was beautiful and the area is very picturesque, just around the corner to the water and lots of nice places to go for dinner and drinks. Couldn't ask for a better stay.

10am check out is too early for weekend stays. Having to pay extra to check out at midday is a sin. Doors and hall flooring are very noisy which did disturb our sleep. Perhaps something to stop doors banging shut could be introduced?

The Jones Suite was gorgeous MASSIVE room with lovely decor and a very comfy bed. Bathroom and shower were fab. Location was fabulous, we were 2 mins away from everything and the staff were lovely too. Loved the complimentary mini bar snacks and drinks, lovely touch.

Charlie was very attentive, helped us with everything and seemed to have a great hold of things at The Arran. The bed in the Cosy King was unbelievably comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. Location was great, everything we did was a 5 min walk away.
