I only stayed one night and had to catch an early train, so missed the cooked breakfast, sadly. However, the host offered to make me a packed breakfast - much appreciated. Location is great for rail travel, and an easy walk into town.

The shower went cold on the last evening, we reported it, but no fault of the owner, these things happen.

The owner was lovely, and accommodating to our needs, the breakfast was nice, and it was a 10 min walk to the centre of york, lots to do and see, will be going back.

Nice property, great host, delicious breakfast. We were originally a bit concerned about the street in front, but the windows have been soundproofed and the nighttime traffic was minimal. Short 10 or 15 minute walk to the city center.

Heard some noise from the main road at the front and the railway at the back but not too excessive for a central location, it would not stop me returning for another stay.

Staff were very nice, location was brilliant for the city centre, breakfast was excellent with a great range of options.

Love the Apple House. Staff are so welcoming and we always book to stay here when we visit York. We book the Loft Room which is so cosy and well equipped with everything me and my daughter need for our stay.

We had the attic bedroom, no 12, very hot, no windows to open, a air conditioning unit was available, very restricted in head room, would not stay in this room again

Decor tired in places. Our room was situated at rear and up on the second floor, so lots of stairs to consider. Railway line (a busy one) at bottom of garden, and overnight rail works were being carried out during our stay. Works were certainly noisy and very bright floodlights in operation at that time.

Great room. Bright and airy. Great location. Private off street parking which was an important point for us. Cooked full English breakfast each morning was very good and staff were pleasant and attentive. Although clearly very busy, we were not aware of noise from other residents. For younger guests there was a great selection of toys and games available. Check in and out was easy and hassle free. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good base to explore York. Good bus service and sightseeing bus stops a 5 min walk away.

I couldn't fault the hotel or staff.

The hotel was very easy to find and the car park was just around the back. We arrived before check in time and we could leave our car in the car park and then came back later. We were given the keys, so we could just let ourselves in. The bed was lovely and confortable and we dropped off straight away. Lovely clean room and excellent breakfast which we pre ordered the night before. The staff were very helpful and friendly and I would stay here again.

I would have preferred a room at back of house as the road at front of hotel was noisy at times.

The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly, and the breakfast very good. The Apple House is near the train station, which is why we chose it, and also has free on site parking.

A little gem, the location is perfect for the racecourse or the city centre & close to the train station. Danielle was extremely friendly & attentive. Breakfast was excellent quality & there was plenty of choice. Car parking facilities are also available.
