Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot really much to do with the hotel, but they did mention where to park as the best option for 2 days was to get a parking permit for a 2 night stay from the tourist information office next to the car park and it would save money. I called into the tourist information office and mentioned I was staying at the Angel hotel for 2 nights, so they gave me a permit costing £19.20 to place inside our windscreen. Now, as it was 12:20 p.m on the 14/05/24 and the permit says for 2 days in bold print, they then write on it that it expires at 18:00 p.m on wed 15/05/24 so to me that it is definitely a permit for 1 day, which I said to them, but they said it was correct. They mentioned and wrote it down incase I forgot, that I would have to return on Wednesday evening after 18:00 pm and purchase a ticket from the machine or pay by phone and the alternative was purchasing a 3 day permit from the office for £29.00 So my advice, as i paid £19:20 for a 2 day permit which in effect only lasts for day, because we had to return and pay an additional £8.40 to cover us until we checked out of the hotel at 11:00 am on the Thursday 16/05/24 so be very careful the parking is expensive and never saved any money by going to the tourist information in fact it was more confusing. It is easier to pay by phone which is £9.40 for 24 hrs there is no charge for overnight from 18:00 pm to 06:00 am the next morning, but if however you do stay have your breakfast at any hotel, then check out at 11:00 am, like most people would Just add the txt message prompt to your phone and you can just add additional time as needed. My total costs for 2 nights stay ending up costing us £27.60 in total to cover us up until our 11:00 am checkout time and getting back to the car park with out a parking fine.
Space in the room, the view was good great choices for meals plus drink selection, hotel nice and clean with security doors, hotel entrance separate from the bar area, via side entrance.

United KingdomVery small room (404) if sitting at dressing table the chair hit the bottom of the bed, there was no room for my hubby to pass by at all. Not enough sockets and those that were there were badly positioned.
Excellent location, extra pillows. Near to parking but difficulty in finding spaces on busy weekends. Very helpful, friendly staff. Room service available from connecting pub.

AustraliaI recently had the pleasure of staying at Wetherstone's Angel Hotel in Whitby, and I can confidently say it was an experience to remember! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that truly set the tone for my entire stay. Let's start with the rooms – they were nothing short of exceptional! Impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities one could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was evident, from the plush bedding to the modern furnishings, making it feel like a luxurious home away from home. What truly impressed me, though, was the incredible value for money that Wetherstone's Angel Hotel offers. Despite the high quality of service and accommodation, the prices were incredibly reasonable, making it accessible to travelers with various budgets. It's rare to find such a perfect balance of affordability and luxury, but Wetherstone's Angel Hotel has mastered it effortlessly. Moreover, the location couldn't have been better – right in the heart of Whitby, with easy access to all the attractions and sights that this charming town has to offer. Whether you're exploring the historic streets, indulging in local cuisine, or simply taking in the breathtaking views of the coastline, everything is just a stone's throw away from the hotel. Last but not least, I must commend the staff for their exceptional service. Friendly, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay, they truly exemplify the spirit of hospitality. In conclusion, if you're looking for a place to stay in Whitby that offers unbeatable value for money and excellent rooms, look no further than Wetherstone's Angel Hotel. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
