Very warm weekend and wasn’t that well ventilated, lamps wasn’t working, smelt fusty/ Smokey a candle or reed diffuser would have made a difference

The room was way too hot! It took over an hour for the radiator to cool down and I had to have the window open as wide as possible all night. Slightly cavalier staff member showed me round - mentioned in passing that I couldn't leave the bathroom door open whilst having a shower or the fire alarm would go off which was a worry. My wifi never connected so had to do a work call on my phone.

Room was large, clean and had a comfortable bed. Pantry was great. Helpful staff member behind the bar that put my single food order through whilst there was a big queue for dinner, as I was staying upstairs which I appreciated.

The stairs up to the rooms are scruffy but it didn’t really bother us.

Really convenient for Clifton, easy to park on the street. Good size comfortable room with everything you need.

Stairs steep and narrow, may not suit those with mobility issues.

Bed was very comfortable. Large and in a spacious room. Warm Staff were all helpful, especially with finding parking. Solly particularly helpful and friendly. We ate in pub and the food was excellent. Loved the quirkiness of having a theatre in a pub. Didn’t experience any noise in room from either pub or theatre.

The shower just didn’t get hot. Luke warm at best no matter what I did. the water from the sink tap was hot though so that was frustrating.

Unfortunately the price (100£ a night) is too high for what it was, although the room was extremely cozy and we had a wonderful stay. Maybe it’s because we were staying during the Jubilee weekend.

Breakfast was very basic : muesli, cornflakes, milk or other vegetable milks. I think that’s it. And you eat this in your room, since there is no sitting area, the food is on a shelf in the corridor. I would not say it was a proper “breakfast included”. Teas and coffee already in the room with a kettle.

The property was ideal. What I didn’t like was Team Hopewell the company responsible for managing the property sending me numerous computer generated messages daily informing me of the same thing. stop all the emails!!!!!

Details - paintwork a bit dirty, about half of the light bulbs were missing and not quite enough storage/hanging options. Tap also leaked a little at the base.

There was a strange smell in the room upon arrival, I had to air the room for a couple of hours. The blinds were really tricky to open and shut, definitely need to be replaced. The noise from the theatre/ pub is minimal but the walls in between rooms are very thin. The breakfast station is nice but a few tweaks could make it a lot better. I had planned to eat dinner at the pub on Tuesday eve but was notified the kitchen was closed due to staff availability which was a shame.

The room was lovely, clean and warm! A very comfy king sized bed and the bathroom has a great shower. Great location, easy to walk into the centre or you can jump on a bus that stops nearby. The staff at the Alma were lovely and helpful. Breakfast/ coffee station is simple but a nice touch. Would happily recommend the Alma to friends.

Great location and the staff are lovely. The rooms are above the pub, but noise isn’t a problem. Really friendly people. The room itself was really comfortable and the shower very good. We will definitely return as Clifton is a great area.

Come on Hopewell, over £100 a night and you cant fix the broken blinds (which would cost @ £40), I cut my finger on the sharp wood, and light streamed through early in the morning. Also the bedside lights did not work. Both these issues have been raised in previous reviews so why are you not mending these things. Only one spotlight in the shower room so showering in the dark. Boiling hot stuffy room need a portable fan. These rooms could be good but just not being maintained.....buck your ideas up Hopewell......
