Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTiny combined toilet, shower and washbasin. Not much bigger than the old red telephone box. Disappointed I did not receive 20% discount on food as advertised on booking.com. Apparently this is wrong.
Fantastic cooked breakfast. Best full English I've had in quite a while. Very good WiFi connection.

United KingdomSome bathrooms are very small, although functional. The hotel bar is like a busy night club on the weekend, although music does not go on too long. No breakfast on the weekend, but in fairness it does state this on the website.
The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, there's a nice big bar with games rooms, good food and free parking.

United KingdomThe noise, loud busting music from the bar downstairs went up till about 3-4am which didn't allow us to sleep and checkout was 10am The rugs were very dirty hadn't seen a wash in years The cupboards, bedside tables were very dusty The bathroom/toilet is just like a boxed airplane toilet cabin
The room had two single bed, 2 wardrobes, bedside cupboards, chest drawer, private bathroom with toilet, TV, WiFi and everything needed for a night stay The hotel is very affordable and close to Legoland Windsor The beds were comfortable and shower was warm

United KingdomAs before the decoration and overall appearance of the sleeping areas. Comfortable seating in the bar and eating area would have been nice also.
From the outside the hotel looked fantastic. The bar and eating are were very good. The living area upstairs where our room was was needed modernizing as it was very dated with poor décor and threadbare carpets. The food and staff were excellent.

United Kingdomlimited parking available due to large functions and patrons of the hotel bar. The rooms could do with painting and a deep clean. Bathroom sink had cigarette burns in it and wall panels were broken. Room was at the front of the hotel and above the entrance/exit, even though on top floor we had windows open due to warm weather and the noise late at night early morning of people leaving in the car park woke us on several occasions.
Location & staff were great

United KingdomThe tiny shower/ toilet in the first room
First room they put us in was very small with a combined shower, toilet, wash basin. It was like walking into a porterloo. Then they moved up to a sister hotel and it was much better and I wish they gave you the option when you check in.

United KingdomThe rooms very dated and scruffy, my shower was cold. The stair carpets in a terrible state, dirty and worn. The smells from the kitchen coming up the stairs was not very nice either. Although the food is great the menu is limited
The pub was very nice, decor was good, tables a bit sticky but it's a pub and they get like that. The food was amazing, the £1 pizza on Monday was fresh homemade bloody lovely. The mixed kebab was amazing too. The staff specially Tom all very friendly and welcoming, as a single woman staying here they made me feel at ease, helpful when I asked for directions to shops etc. Tom went above and beyond to help me. I felt very at ease walking into the pub, sitting and eating on my own even at the busiest times (something I never do)

United KingdomFor the price I certainly wasn’t expecting the ritz, however, I felt the “en-suite” description was stretching it a little. It was a tiny shower room that felt like it was a converted wardrobe. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable either, but I fully accept that’s entirely subjective. For less than £50 it did the job but personally, I think I would pay a little extra for a travelodge next time.
I only needed a bed for the night as my property was being sold and for £45 it basically did the job. I can’t really complain because of the price and the facilities were ok at best.

United KingdomI was in one of the top room which was bit difficult get up and down because they were so steep, would have preferred one on lower floor but wasnt given that option. The lass who was on in evening wasnt as friendly as the day crew, yes i know they were busy but also someone staying in rooms needs attention as well. No usb connection that would have been ideal. Bit of paint covering up marks and holes did look bit scruffy. Bigger carpark as this was small
Lovely hotel quirky, big gardens lovely to east breakfast outside. Friendly staff and helpful cannot fault them. Best thing is decent coffee. Clean rooms bit outdated

United KingdomThere was a few maintenance issues. For example, when I arrived I noticed that the ceiling was leaking in the staircase leading up to the rooms.
The staff I spoke to were lovely, and attentive. The hotel room was clean, and there was a nice large window which kept the room well ventilated.
