Very friendly staff and owners. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if I am in the area. Very nice bar and restaurant with a reasonable selection of drinks to choose from. The owner very kindly went out of his way to drop us off at the train station in Nairn when we were leaving too. Great place to stay if you're travelling in the area.

Minor details like no toilet rolls in the room but quickly remedied with apologies galore. Only a problem if you handnt checked before hand.

This is a no nonsense establishment.The rooms are tight in size yet functional. The were clean and well presented. What shone were the staff. The y were courteous and professional but all had a sense of humour which is certainly lacking in todays world.

Although the water was hot, the shower pressure was virtually zero meaning it took a long time when trying to wash hair in the morning. Walls between bedrooms were rather thin!!

The hotel had been freshly decorated throughout and everything was very clean. All staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was superb and cooked exactly to our request. My only comment would be that the bed was rather small and creaked when you sat up to get out of it. A better mattress would resolve this.

Could hear people loudly arguing in one of the rooms next to our. We could hear the occupant being sick in the toilet in the room next to ours. Occupant next to our room made a great deal of noise opening and shutting the wardrobe doors early in the morning. Apart from a stressful nights sleep. We did enjoy our stay at the 1645 Inn.

Would have liked to eat in the restaurant instead of the bar, which we thought we’d booked. It would be nice to have the breakfast menu online and some pastries for the continental would be nice. There was a constant rushing noise in the room which kept my daughter awake most of the night and which woke me up early 6am as the noise intensified. I believe it may have been a nearby boiler which would explain it getting louder as demand increased. We were thanked for informing staff in the morning but no compensation was offered which was a shame.

Rather noisy plumbing - other rooms drawing water very noisy, and tank in roof filling . thankfully stopped around midnight.

Coffee served at breakfast in a cafetière was instant coffee but in fairness to staff it was changed to ground coffee without any problem.

The room was tiny We are both thin otherwise getting into the en-suite would have been very difficult Room was overpriced for facilities but ambience in hotel and food compensated a bit

It was a bit daunting on our arrival to be welcomed by most of the town in Full Party mood in and out of the hotel, But it wasn't for Us, Gala Day! But we were truly welcomed by all and we soon, were in the part mood. One thing still to be completed and did spoil our first impressions of the hotel was the car park. But it is still early days in the upgrade of the external area of what is the making of four star establishment.

Breakfast was outstanding due to three facts, quality of food on our plates, standard of cooking and how hot it all was when it emerged from the kitchen, lastly, the skill and attention the young manager dealt with all our requirements, despite the restaurant being near to full on a Sunday morning.
