Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere's nothing worth mentioning but a pint of milk would have been gratefully received.
The cottage is in a convenient location for what I wanted to do and was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Sue was vey welcoming and helpful. The home made biscuits were a nice touch. The cottage is well equipped including ground coffee with a French press and a teabags with a teapot. I think the cottage is good value for money and I would happily stay there again.

United KingdomShower very old and could do with some timescale remover, quite a bit of dust on the bed slats, garden crying out for some tidying up
Own parking space, path leading up to an extremely Cozy shepherds hut with some beautiful furnishings, plenty of extra cozy blankets, Alexa, tv, shower, all the cooking utensils you need for a weekend stay. The secluded private garden was nice (needs a little tidying up) & an extra garden space to walk your dogs, host sue was very welcoming and one of her dogs visited our private garden regularly to say hi! Unfortunately our 2 dogs weren’t too happy about that though!

United KingdomCrumbs on the worktops and in the drawers. And dust in certain areas.
The bed was so comfy. The whole annex was completely kitted out with everything you would need during your stay. The Netflix and Prime Video were an excellent way to relax and chill out. Quality furnishings and the fan was a great addition.

United KingdomEr. The front gate is a bit scary when you arrive as it’s just past a bend on a main road but there’s room to pull over safely.
The space is quiet and wonderfully well maintained. The hut is super clean with comfy furniture and all the facilities you need. It’s very private and secure. I was left to my own devices but when I did speak to Sue she was warm and friendly and only too pleased to chat. I wish I had booked for longer.

United KingdomIt was lovely as it was. The only thing that might improve it could possibly be the addition of a microwave? I don’t think the mini oven had that function but could be wrong.
A lot of thought has gone into setting up this Shepherd’s Hut. Everything you need but in ‘tiny house’ style. A lovely private (and dog-safe) garden. A very welcoming host who gave clear instructions for access and left a plate of cookies!

United KingdomTv signal was poor ( but could be due to high pressure)
Tim and Sue have provided an excellent property to rent. The accommodation provides the ideal place to relax with everything provided to enjoy your stay and we really enjoyed our time there. The bed was very comfortable and the provision of two really cosy chairs made relaxing very easy although we were lucky enough to be able to make use of the outside areas (two chairs outside the door and a table and chairs in the garden ) as the weather was good. The kitchen area is well equipped and the addition of an air fryer was useful. There was a good supply of hot water and the rain shower was very welcome. Thank you Sue for the cookies.

United KingdomThe road outside the property was rather busy at times and a little difficult to navigate onto, however, it did'nt really impact on our stay and you could'nt really hear the traffic at night.
Great location, plenty to do in the surrounding area. The Annexe was really cosy and comfortable, dog friendly, and we also had use of a beautiful outdoor area. The hosts were amazing, super accommodating, could'nt have asked for a nicer couple.

United KingdomOnly thing I could think of is maybe fencing off the courtyard to The Annex, just so you can leave the door open and not worry about the dog.
The Annex was perfect, had everything you could need and even a few extras. It was lovely to have lots of outside areas to sit and relax. The dog loved the paddock to run around in.

United KingdomNo fault of Sue and Tim but the road noise was alittle annoying. Not sure if you are aware but the dog came over the fence a couple of times to raid the bins.
Shepherds hut was lovely and very comfortable. Everything you needed was provided. The outside seating areas are very relaxing looking at the sheep and hearing the birds singing.

United KingdomThe property is a little isolated. We were hoping to hire a care but couldn't. If you're driving it would be fine. Must say though, the kindness of locals ... we got 4 lifts during our 3 night stay!
This place is amazing, so comfortable & beautifully furnished. We had to cut our trip short by a day, due to rail strikes, told the hosts so they gave us a lift to the station! Amazing people, wonderful place.
