Didn’t use wi-fi as didn’t know code, and never got to use the spa as it was locked and we didn’t know how to access it. Would have been useful to have been told this on check in.

Hotel was clean, and staff friendly. The rooms were a little dated, but that’s shown in the price. There was damp/mould on the net curtains which was not ideal and the kettle has residue in but other than that it was acceptable. Drank at bar and wine very expensive but that’s hotel prices I guess. Location for centre was brilliant, could easily walk to shops/bars no problem.

Coffee machines are way too slow and in the wrong location as they prevent other people accessing the breads/pastries. The gym was adequate but some of the equipment needs maintenance, e.g. rowing machines. The hotel was generally quite unkept in many areas, especially corridors and walkways - floors were quite dirty as well.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Restaurant staff were generally very polite and friendly.

Prices at the bar way too high, which made you leave the hotel in search of dinner etc. Not really what you want to do after a day on the road.

The changing rooms and pool were not clean. The shower in the bedroom sprayed water over the bathroom floor. It was cheeky to charge for parking. I was not aware that there would be an extra £10 charge to cover parking.

Would have been nice if the tea and coffee had been replenished in the room after the clean. The hook on our bathroom door was missing which meant there was nowhere to hang our used towels. Small things like that are just annoying. We were also told prior to the booking that spa facilities were available apart from the pool which had an issue and there were no treatments to book at the hotel. When we spoke to a guest at the hotel he said there definitely was spa treatments available and we noticed this when we used toilets in the lobby that on the doors there was a number to phone for treatments? We were a bit annoyed if this was true because we actually went out of the hotel to get massages. The spa facilities could have done with a very good clean. The floor in the sauna was filthy under the benches. I have no issue with the facilities being old or dated but it could have been a lot cleaner. The floors of the changing rooms were also quite gross and all of the lockers were old and rusty. None of them had any locks so I put my things in and and hoped for the best. Obviously I didn’t think anything would be taken but security for peace of mind would have been nice.

The staff were all exceptional. They did their very best to make our stay good. Izzy and Alexandra from reception were both lovely. Late checkout at 12pm and the staff were very accommodating and said we could check out later for an additional £10 per hour.

You have to walk though a quite big fitness complex to get to the rooms. Which are clean but without aircon.

There was no fridge in the room to keep any drinks cool. Extra amenities like toothbrush, gown slippers etc have to be requested rather than being in room already
