Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was a kitchen closeby where we could have made a cuppa but would have been better if we could have had a kettle in the room too so we could make one in the room before breakfast. Other rooms we know do have a kettle as we have stayed in another room subsequently.
Good buffet breakfast. Lovely downstairs room. Nice being able to have breakfast in the garden. Built in wardrobe for clothing rather than having everything on the floor as occurs in most hotels. Friendly and helpful staff.

Hong KongSome small maintenance work can be improved. Like ventilator in toilet room 5 is not functioning and we change our room to no 6. In room 6 Window handle lock was loosen. Toilet paper hanger are loosen. Toilet tissue supply only 1 roll while we stay 3 nights, they should keep a spare new roll inside the toilet. Kitchen is well maintained except the Bosch microwave oven is not working. Luckily they have 2 kitchen which can be used. Instructions to use the main entrance key (electronic wireless key) should be informed as we have to ask other guest how to open the main entrance door before we go out.
Location is great and a short distance walk to Mill Hill Main street which has lot of restaurants and supermarket.

NetherlandsBreakfast wasn't much... If you like cereal you're good, but the rest were pre packed (almost expired) things. The apple juice actually expired and had big flakes in it.
Nice and comfortable room. Looked pretty new! A good place for a stop over for one night. Very friendly host.

AustraliaStairs and lack of shopping centre and no shelving in bathroom and containers did not have tables on so.......
Breakfast is set out for all to serve themselves and it is impeccable. Stairs are steep but only 1 flight. Staff was very good and so were the ethnic shop keepers who some would be reluctant to interact with, but they were fantastic to us after we interacted with them- a great cultural experience (NO shopping centre nearby only community shops)

United StatesBreakfast was a little underwhelming, not many options and most of them were sugary. Would have loved more protein options that didn't require me to have to cook my own eggs. Maybe hardboiled eggs, protein bars, or something else more sustaining that wouldn't be too hard to have pre-made would have been nice. There was also no breakfast laid out on Sunday while we were there. I don't know if that was intentional or if something happened to make breakfast unavailable that morning, but we had already planned to get breakfast out that day, so it didn't really affect us. But it would have been nice to have a heads-up about that if we had been planning to partake in what was provided by TA House. We also ran out of toilet paper twice while we were there and it was difficult to get ahold of someone to help us replenish the stock. I think making sure that there is enough toilet paper at the start of someone's stay (depending on the length and the number of people in the room) would be better. Our bed seemed to cave into the frame on the side closest to the bathroom. It didn't seem to bother my husband too much, but if I had been on that side of the bed, I would have been very uncomfortable. I don't know if this is a normal thing for showers in England (I say this because we had a similar issue at the first place we stayed in London), but the shower door had a large enough gap in the middle of it (accordion fold) that water would get all over the floor while we showered. I have just never experienced that sort of thing before. To me, it feels like it shouldn't be that way, but after having two showering experiences at different places where water ended up on the floor, I am wondering it if is just me.
Very close to bus stops and a short walk to Tesco and the Mill Hill Broadway Thameslink train station. Loved the location very much. The room was spacious enough that we didn't feel cramped with all of our stuff. We enjoyed having a little table and chairs in the room. The tea kettle allowed us to have tea every night as we were winding down from our busy days in the city. We loved having cable to watch British game shows while we were in the room. The view out the window was lovely and felt very homey. The shower had no trouble at all with hot water and I never had to worry about it running out. Everything was clean and made us feel right at home while we stayed there.

IrelandThe breakfast was very poor It stated Continental breakfast but there was only boxes of cereal with some pre wrapped waffles etc. There were no yogurt's, fruit or wholemeal bread. Also there were only 4 stool's at a breakfast counter facing a wall to sit on which were uncomfortable so no table and chairs. The lighting in my ensuite bathroom was poor as only one spot light out of the three working and the shower door had a huge gap in the centre which meant all the water was splashing out through it to the floor. The heating wasn't on in the room and it was cold I had to put it on and wait for the room to heat up. Also at 3am I was woken up by the banging and clattering of delph, doors etc as the breakfast items were placed out
The place was extremely clean and the bedroom and ensuite bathroom was comfortable

United KingdomThe breakfast was disappointed, so I didn't eat any. I went to the McDonalds.
The location was very close to my activities and ease of travelling around as the bus stop was literally in front of the TA House and only 2 bus stops away from Mill Hill train station, which was ideal. The shower was to die for. I could have spent hours in that shower.
