Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBathroom is a tad small but doable. No ice machine, microwave, or a little refrigerator. That was pretty inconvenient. The lift is restricted by weight; 150kg is the max. We used it once or twice until we came back from touring and the lift was broken….. we were on the 4th floor so we had to take the stairs. Luckily this happened on our last day.
The property is definitely a little old but the cleanliness and comfort compensates! The property was really close to the tube station, local stores, restaurants, and more. We really got the feeling of how residents in London truly live as this hotel is near other residential areas. Staff were incredibly helpful as they always fulfilled our requests. Property didnt have A/C but London is such a chilly city. With the fans that they provided and opening the windows, we were all set. Such a cute little neighborhood and for the price I say it is worth it.

United KingdomOur room had a very strange layout with a small corridor with steps that led up to a landing then down into a very big and spacious bathroom with basic amenities. One of the issues of converting older properties I guess.
Perfect location as our son was auditioning locally. Friendly staff and interesting building made it a good experience.

United KingdomThe room smelled of smoke upon arrival, I kept the windows open throughout my stay to offset this. The double bed was two twins pushed together and would have benefitted from a mattress topper to avoid the inevitable crack in the middle!
The location was absolutely great and enabled me to easily pop out to the theatre! The room and hotel were very nicely furnished, and the room was very generously sized and comfortable to work in.

United KingdomThe lift was really cool but a little scary with only a 2 person 150kg weight limit and if there was another way to get upstairs it wasn’t clearly directed so made us a little nervous since we would have exceeded it with bags and have to have 2 trips up/down.
Loved the antique style decor, everything was clean, the double room was a good size and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. Check in and check out was also very quick and easy and the the staff were all lovely.

United KingdomView from the room wasn't great but at least we could see trees. Very creaky floorboards in our room.
A decent breakfast on offer and the hotel is only a short walk to the nearest tube station and bus routes. Room was a decent size.

SpainThe housekeeper opened the door twice without knocking before check-out time. She was rude and asked me when we were leaving. Maybe she was in a rush to do her job, but it was two hours before check-out time and then again one hour before. She needs to learn how to be polite and not disrespect or disturb the guests.
Close to the subway, the hotel needs refurbishment, and the breakfast is not good enough. The floor is noisy, and the bathrooms need renovation. The king bed consists of two mattresses put together.

SpainAs it was a suite... there was no door between the lounge and bedroom, would have be useful when one trying to rest and the other watching Tv in the lounge.

SwitzerlandThe temperature in the room was quite cold and turning up the heater did not make a difference unfortunately.
We got upgraded to a larger room, which was very nice, we had a lot of space. We especially loved the extremely comfortable, large bed and the delicious breakfast. The location is superb with supermarkets, restaurants, the tube station just minutes away.

IrelandAs this is an old hotel the soundproofing is very poor. Our first night there we could not sleep as we could hear the person above us walking around the room. This would have ruined our stay had it happened every night. The double beds are also quite small for a hotel nowadays.
This hotel is in a great location, the location is probably the best thing about this hotel and why we would consider staying again. Swiss Cottage underground station is a three minute walk from the front door. Quiet area of London. Charming old style decor - the room was very clean.
