Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe garden area was very overgrown and untidy which was a shame as with the nice weather it would of been nice to sit out there.
A great location for Swansea city, the neighbours to the right were very polite and helpful. A shop for any supplies right around the corner. All the facilities you needed were present in the property.

United KingdomNo bathroom upstairs. The layout is uncomfortable as got living room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs. Two single beds one is squeaky and curtains very thin. Would need eye masks for better sleep. Garden could do with tidying up and mouldy bathroom sealant replaced.
Location and communication.

CanadaSqueezing out of the bed along the wall and trying not to fall down the stairs to find the bathroom in the middle of the night was not my favourite part! But the space is what it is.
This is not a beautiful part of town, but it is very convenient to the city centre and supermarkets - a short walk is all you need. Parking was easy, and the amount of space was terrific. We did not cook, but the kitchen seemed pretty fully supplied. The house was clean and we felt good coming back at the end of the day.

United KingdomAs soon as we entered the property there was an immediate smell of damp and mould. We explored a little further to our horror we found used condoms and wrappers on the back door step and a trashed garden that was so overgrown and full of waste we couldn't even escape outside for any part of the trip. There was stains in the fridge from spilt milk. Damp and mould in and around the bathroom. The narrow deep staircase going upstairs was difficult to climb for the less abled members our group. There was damp and mould in the double bedroom. Black spit mould all around the bath seals downstairs. We found beer tops around the lounge and crumbs sweet packets tucked down the sofa. The grey towels on the bed were stained and the decor was self adhesive in the lounge and peeling back due to the damp. Booking.com advised they were trying to calm the host to arrange a refund and as the host was not responsive they said they would file an official complaint after 24hours. I then wrote to booking.com to provide photo evidence and another adviser responded to me saying they couldn't get hold of him so I should try directly. I tried to respond to messages but have since found that my responses have been disabled. I actually work in a hotel myself and have alot of knowledge and understanding of the booking process and subsequently use booking.com not only as a customer but from business perspective to. I feel both this host, property and booking.com have completely failed me on this occasion.
The owner rang me with the keysafe code upon my arrival to Swansea. I went to the property with my partner, My Father and Wife. We usually stay at the Premier Inn but this was so we'll advertised we thought a sea view apartment brilliant a bit more space. Boy how we were wrong! I didn't like any of this experience at all. Sadly the property has been misold by the owner and booking.com who have both stopped replying to my messages when asking for a refund. I only spent 10minutes in the property before we eunamously decided to leave and book a hotel nearby.

United KingdomWhen we arrived in Swansea it was about -4°c and found that the house was like a fridge because the owner likes to keep the heating off when no one is in the house. It took all night to warm the place up and in fact it was only by the time we got to Sunday did it feel properly warm. The stairs are very very steep and the landing floor slopes which is not helpful if you have any physical issues. Also we ended up not at the pool on the Sunday and as the weather was so bad we had a day staying in (aside from popping to Sainsbury’s - 5 minutes away to get food to cook) we found at the point of serving up the food that there wasn’t enough cutlery for the four of us. I didn’t message the owner at the time because we were literally serving up food so we popped down the road to Home Bargains for a cheap cutlery pack. I mentioned this to the owner when we checked out and he told us it would be topped up.
The property was in a good location for our needs (a ten minute drive to Swansea International swimming pool for a competition). It had a useable kitchen with a washing machine and two separate bedrooms meaning we didn’t have to share with our two boys. It has a decent size TV in the lounge (though it would be better if wall mounted).

United KingdomLovely little house in walking distance of everything. It had everything we needed and loved the little extras like Netflix, books and a hairdryer. 2 min walk to shops and the Plantasia attraction which we enjoyed and around 15 min walk down the marina to the beach and a play park which was empty despite it being August. We had a lovely stay. Many thanks
