Restaurant staff were great but… what they advertised on there site to what was presented We would not rate the food at all they must have been having a bad day… We have had far better meals in local pubs and taverns very disappointed ☹️

    Nothing negative to mention.

Very impressive hotel in a beautiful location. The real gem here is the staff and management who are the most professional and the best we have ever encountered. We have travelled all over Europe and the UK and can honestly say that the food from the bistro is the finest we have ever tasted, and was consistently excellent on every occasion. We will certainly be returning to this hotel in the near future.

    Unsalted butter.

The castle (a large manor house actually) is in an amazingly beautiful location, right on loch Fyne, with acres and acres of woods and gardens. There are small beaches where you can skip rocks or dare to feel the frosty water but for the most part just looking out the window or sitting on the patio and enjoying the view is enough. The bedrooms and bathrooms are fairly large and exceptionally clean. There are many places in the house to relax, read a book, just look out the window or enjoy a class of wine. The bar and bartender were excellent. We felt very well cared for there. The dining room is gorgeous with those amazing views. The menu is small but very creative and the food is exceptionally fresh. I would return here tomorrow or anytime.

The place was beautiful. Lots of space to feel like you are on your own. Staff were super helpful and attentive without being pushy. Alex especially made sure nothing was impossible and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. Everything well thought out and decor interesting. Nothing to fault about Stonefield Castle.

The beds could do with a mattress topper for extra comfort. Rooms are quite warm even without any heating on in the room so maybe a fan would help.

Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The food was very good.

The mattress was on the too firm side. The room was too warm, even with the window open.

    There was nothing to dislike

The property is in excellent shape and is very clean and in good repair. The location is beautiful and our spacious room on the upper floor had uninterrupted views across Loch Fyne. Our dog was welcomed and there are splendid paths to explore and Barmore Island is very close. The bar is well stocked and the kitchens prepared delicious meals.

Breakfast wasn't great. Sausage wasn't good quality and eggs were a bit bland. Could have been better considering the stunning dinner we had.

The location was stunning. Staff lovely and so nice as my husband arranged a bottle of bubbles and chocolate for our room and they were so helpful.

It 's hard to keep up a very old building but it does need a bit of tlc in the common areas.

Absolutely the staff. Beyond good. The food was exquisite. The ambience is atypically sumptuous.. The views of Loch Fyne are breathtaking.

Everything was very satisfactory and I have no complaints

There was a very pleasant welcome when we arrived and I had requested a room with a walk in shower which was provided. The dog was made very welcome and was welcome in all the public area except the main restaurant. The hotel is an old castle with huge grounds and its own private island to walk around. There are very extensive gardens with well marked paths and some beautiful trees and shrubs. There were two visiting yachts moored down in the little bay. The decor and atmosphere is in keeping with the style of the building with magnificent wood panelling, comfy chairs and settees and an open fire in the drawing room area. Our room was on the ground floor and very convenient for the rest of the hotel. It was well furnished and clean with a modern tiled bathroom with a bath and a walk in shower. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There was a wide choice of hot dishes for breakfast and the full Scottish breakfast was vast and very tasty. The buffet side was a little meagre in terms of rolls and pastries etc. We ate in the restaurant one night and again there was an excellent choice of dishes with an emphasis on the local seafood for which Loch Fyne is well known. The wine list was quite limited and rather pricey but choice of whiskeys was extensive.
