Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We recently spent four wonderful days at Stone House, and the experience was truly exceptional. Arriving feeling a bit under the weather, we left completely recharged and revitalized. The hospitality extended to us was outstanding, with every detail thoughtfully catered for. Our room was immaculate and perfectly appointed, featuring a heavenly bed that offered unparalleled comfort. The packed lunch we requested was absolutely amazing, adding a delicious and convenient touch to our days. Exploring the area through the outstanding walks provided stunning scenery and invigorating experiences. Additionally, the breathtaking view from our room was simply unforgettable. Stone House exceeded all our expectations, providing a perfect blend of comfort, excellent service, and beautiful surroundings. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing and memorable retreat.

United KingdomWe would have liked a stand up shower but the architecture of house made this impossible. We enjoyed a lovely bath instead with copious hot water.
Stonehouse is a beautiful old house in a magnificent position in the countryside, with a wonderful view of Hergest Ridge from the front garden. The house is tastefully and individually decorated with particularly comfortable bed and generous coffee/tea making facilities including fresh milk. Emma and her family were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. The continental breakfast included cereal, toast and a croissant. They also accommodated my husband's gluten intolerance extremely well. The en suite bathroom was clean and worked well. The gardens were wonderful and gave me lots of ideas. Thank you.

United KingdomThe bathroom was largely nicely appointed but there is no head height for the over bath shower and there’s no screen. So you have to sit or kneel for a shower and risk getting water all over the floor and walls.
Beautiful house in stunning location and gorgeous garden. Delightful owner was welcoming and flexible for our very late arrival. Very good breakfast.

United KingdomThe location could be a little challenging if you own a sports car - for my trusty little polo, it was absolutely fine.
The family who owned the property were so lovely and really couldn’t do enough for you……….& the bed was HUGE & so comfy! The continental breakfast was also delicious and so nice to eat off & drink out of traditional china plates & cups.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything that I didn't like.
Stone House has stunning views, perfect place to stay if you like peace and quiet. The bed was very comfortable with an electric blanket. Plenty of hot water from the shower and lovely large bath towel. An electric kettle ,tea, coffee and fresh milk in room. A continental breakfast is included in price and a freshly cooked breakfast is available at an extra cost. Both are very tasty. Emma sent me an email prior to arrival with instructions on how to find Stone House and nearby places to eat.

AustraliaDon't even think about staying here unless you have your own transport or plan on doing some serious walking. Stone House is in a truly beautiful part of the world but it is pretty remote.

United KingdomI liked it all but personally would have preferred to have had a small kettle in my room so I could have a cup of coffee / tea in the morning. After my 6 hour drive I just wanted to chill out in my room after a shower but it meant I didnt want to wander down stairs and grab another hot drink whilst wearing my PJ's so I was glad I had brought a couple of bottles of water with me.
My husband Tony booked this for me as I had an event to attend at Builth so was just one nights stay but would have liked to stay longer. I loved the location and the house was gorgeous. A warm greeting by Emma the owner was very welcoming. The furnishings and decor were all in keeping with the age of the house and beautifully done. The bedroom and EnSuite were a good size A king size bed with a comfortable mattress . The curtains were interlined and shut out the light so provided a good nights sleep with no light peeping in. It was lovely and quite as positioned up a little lane with no close neighbors. The morning revealed a beautiful view of the hills and countryside from the large Georgian sash windows. A lovely and interesting house . The communication was excellent from Emma and an email before my stay gave really detailed instructions on how to get there. Cake was also offered on arrival. There was a kettle and tea and coffee available in the dining room. I didnt stay for breakfast in the morning so cant comment on that but from what I saw of it set in the dining room it looked to be a good breakfast and start to the day.
