Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdomunfortunately we had to use single beds quilts to put on sofas due to them being covered in dog hair. there was any instructions for boiler as well which really would be useful for people staying. You had washing up liquid provided for pots but no towel to actually dry pots with either .

United KingdomBooked via booking.com. Received confirmation from a David at Staycation Coastfields so led to believe that caravan was part of the park. Initial email stated we would receive a welcome pack 7 days prior. Nothing arrived and nothing confirmed check in time. I emailed david on morning of check in to be informed that we had to pay a further £40 for bed linen and towels and a £50 refundable deposit. No where had this been mentioned. We had paid £170 for 2 nights so this was a big jump in the cost of the stay which we hadn't budgeted for. On arrival we went to reception to be told that there were no bookings checking in....panic obviously set in given I had 3 small children in the car. Eventually the lady on reception found the booking and said it was a private owner and nothing to do with the site. She then asked if he had paid for site passes for us...again we had no idea. She looked into it and found that he hadn't which meant we were unable to use the indoor pool or bar...again all part of why we had booked. We were unable to book these direct as we didn't own the caravan. When we eventually got to the caravan I was appalled by what we found. The carpets throughout were filthy and covered in mud and grass, the sofa had food crumbs on, the kitchen sink had hair in, the kitchen surfaces were full of ants, the cutlery and plates were filthy and covered in food, the toilet ran constantly and made such on noise on flushing it was deafening. On entering the main bedroom the door handle came off in my hand...the list goes on. I complained via email to David who eventually said that the cleaners had sent CCTV footage of the van and as they didn't agree the hair was in the sink they would not be refunding any money. Also if we wanted the passes we had to pay a further £50. Five days after our stay we still haven't recieved our deposit back and feel we never will. Avoid at all costs!!
Location good- that is where any positives begin and end

United KingdomFirst impressions weren't too bad. If you could ignore the smell of wet dog. Nothing a can of air freshener couldn't sort out. Later on the first evening we realised that the bathroom light wasn't working. Messaged host for it to be fixed, was told it would get sorted, and it never did. The toilet was constantly running water into the bowl. Which you could hear all night. You couldn't flush the toilet at night either. When you flushed the toilet, it sounded like the van was going to take off. We ended our trip early as on our final night, we came back to the van from a lovely day out to find ants all over the living area. That was the final straw. So we packed our bags and drove home
Location is fantastic. Very close to fantasy island and all other shops, bars, arcades

United KingdomComplaints -It would be great after you booked if he sent you information right away and the next steps E.G: * Deposit £50 and how to pay the deposit details * Deposit for the dog £20 * Check in and the reason behind all the information needed like a copy of your driving license or passport (I got booking.com to find out if this was legit and they said it’s okay) * About the access master lock app for the caravan (and provide the details for the access closer to the time) This would reduce lots of back and forth and feeling like there step after step after step. I wish I could have the £20 cleaning deposit back for the dog due to the property being dirty from the people before and from the below point… But I don’t think it will happen. -Dirty floors in the kitchen area there was marks of muck on the floor, onion peel, marks on the walls, upholstery on sofa looks dirty as there was darker patches and white dog hairs already in the carpet. -An unknown pill left on the floor that our dog could have ate (or a child if someone came to the place with one) -The oven gloves had a bit of dried food on. -The fridge stunk -No toilet roll ( well about 10 sheets left on a role) -No cleaning products not even to wash pots. -The shower wasn’t that warm -No tea towels -No bin bags -The pans was rusty -The sharp knifes are useless as they was bending cutting a small onion. Really flimsy - I would bring your own -The bedding felt damp in the main bedroom due to a bit of humidity and clothes that we put in the main bedroom waredrobe. - Not disability friendly as the ramp was slippy, worn and steep. -No welcome handbook which would be good to have guest information for working the boiler/hot water, local amantes ect just these nice touches The Caravan is basic, maybe good for a lads/girls weekend where you’re not too bothered and just need a base to stay. I would stay on the caravan site again but a different caravan.
Compliments -Great location -Nice caravan site -Good amount of stuff in the kitchen -Nice TV -Lots of storage space -Light outside by the main door which is useful at night -Can go to the show bar on site for £5pppn (if not booked tickets for the swimming with the owner you can’t go, but Butlins is Down the road)

United KingdomNegatives. Had loads of issues with the owner, took messages and messages and just excuses (like being too busy at a party) to not return my £50 damage deposit. I had given him a few days after we left before I even mentioned it, took another 4 days to get it and the owner told me I was being ridiculous. I mean, once it's checked and you're happy... Just return it. This is £50, not lose change. The guy told me not to book his caravan again... Yeah? like I am planning to, I love the hassle so much. Coastfields themselves. We phoned before had and told passes for 5 days was £50. The owner had on his website £90, so we waited till we got there to buy only to be told by coastfields that as it was a private booking and not through them we couldn't buy them directly from them. If we wanted to go into the bar for evening entertainment we had to pay £5 per adult and think it was £3 for kids ... And we couldn't use the pool. Absolutely nuts. Needless to say, we spent our money in some of the many other family bars instead. A bit of a warning, after you book through booking.com the owner directs you to another site where online check in asks for an uncomfortably large amount of personal information (DOB, occupation, Nationality, place of birth... But to name a few, as well as a digital copy of driving licence or passport) I may be being super careful but I provided very little of what was asked for ie Names and ages, I did begrudgingly send a copy of my driving licence. I get the owner wants to be prudent but come on .. I've got into countries with less info. This is a caravan in Ingolmells. A lot of reviews say how nice the owner is on here. Maybe it was a bad time, but we certainly didn't find that for reasons discussed above.
Good things: location, everything is 5 mins walk. Caravan internal, small but clean, has own wi fi, smart TV and small echo device which is a real positive.
