Another guest was given the key to our room and woke us up in late evening. A mistake, it happens. I didn't anticipate the room we had would be a motel-style arrangement.

The only thing I could suggest would be to put mattress topper to make bed a little softer, but was still comfortable enough.

Friendly staff, huge room. Heater was on so room was warm and toasty. Food was one of the best dinners we've had while travelling around.

The stairs! To be fair, we were aware of the nature of the hotel, but it was disappointing to find ourselves on the top floor after we had requested the ground floor when booking. Also a bedside table on both sides of the bed would have been useful.

A bit noisy due to people in nearby rooms. Noise from next door and upstairs when they use water in washroom. Doors in the hallway also made loud noises when opened/closed.

We dined in a room that was put to one side for people with dogs which was fine whilst eating. However, we like to have a few drinks after a wee walk and felt that we couldn’t do so here. Not a massive game changer as we had a drink in the room.

Food was very nice. Room was great for us with having dogs as we could go in and out without disturbing anyone and there was a park down the road.

The room that we had booked was double booked and we were disappointed to be put into an adjoining flat which though adequate was not what we were looking forward to.

Our room’s lighting could be improved, as it was a wee bit dark.

The hotel has lots of character. A traditional approach with attention to detail and warmth in their hospitality. Nice, friendly, and efficient staff throughout the whole place. Good breakfast. Brilliant shower. Rooms were very clean.

Porridge...that was just "slime" There was a curtain in one of the rooms booked as a cover in front of the beds. That was a bit disgusting as the curtain was just old. The chairs and sofa were old and you felt that approx. 1000 people sat in them.

The hotel is run by an elderly couple of about 80 years...lovely hosts. The staff in the hotel generally speaking was very nice. We arrived late and didn´t get a seat for dinner. Our host though provided us a list of nearby places to eat/take out food. Big parking lot right in front of the rooms.

I felt the dining room was a bit tight for space so we ate out. I didn’t have a sense of a hotel with a separate lounge and separate dining room. The bar, lounge and dining room were one.

The rooms behind the car park were very good and comfortable.

Walls a bit thin with noisy neighbours. And pipes from bathrooms as old building but the new decor nice.

Greart location from train station. 10 pounds in taxi to ferry but everything else in walking distance, great cooked breakfast included.

Quick n easy check-in, spacious, quiet, clean n well-appointed room. Hotel is handy for shops, train station, bus stop & various bars & eateries. Breakfast was tasty & filling.
