We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

There was a plug in air freshner plus a reed diffuser in the room plus an air freshner and toilet freshner in the bathroom ... it was very very strong - not sure if so many to disguise another smell? I had to turn off the plug in as it was making me feel unwell. Very noisy - I think our room was under the stairs ... we heard everyone come in once the pub shut and then very clearly heard everyone having a wee before bed!

United KingdomUnfortunately, during our visit we had an inconsiderate family as neighbours who were letting their child run around the room. It is an old building and was noisy, though this was no fault of the hotel staff.
Comfortable well equipped room, ample parking. Friendly staff, very good breakfast and excellent evening meals, though it does get very busy, but the staff are always on top of everything. A bit isolated, though Kendal is walkable, it took us 45mins and there are bus and train services available.

Family room was excellent. A big, comfy double bed for my wife and I and two comfy singles for our boys. Yes it is next to a road but we weren't bothered by traffic noise. Bonus that our little dog was able to stay with us. Food and atmosphere in the adjoining pub was great and so welcoming. The whole experience was a great tonic after a long drive. Close proximity to a couple of walks that offer scenic vistas across Kendal.

CanadaA lot of noise from the passing cars right near the windows. A very skwicky floor on the second floor, so if you have neighbors on the second floor that don't sleep at the same time as you do, bad night is guaranteed.

United KingdomThe bath tub could have been cleaner, there was a bit of dust/dirt at the bottom (nothing a little rinse with the shower head didn’t fix). Breakfast was meant to be at 08:30, but there was a delay and it was not served until 09:00, which caused a little delay in the rest of our plan for the day. Overall, small complaints, nothing too distressing.
Very easy to find, plenty of parking and super friendly staff. We had supper there, which was delicious. The room was clean, comfortable and peaceful. Breakfast was plentiful and of the highest quality.
