Not being able to stay here for longer because of our walking itinerary.

Very comfortable and cosy with a lovely atmosphere and furnishings. Most hospitable with a great attention to detail. Room tea and coffee best quality. Fresh milk provided. Breakfast outstanding. Many items home made.

What is not to like, Naomi is a great host we were offered tea and cakes when we arrived. Rooms are lovely, and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was amazing so nice to not have to serve yourself everythink was brought to our table and especially to the lady who made the vegy sausages they were delicious. All in all, a great stay

    As above.

Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Room was excellent with separate adjoining toilet and bathroom. A pot of tea and flapjack on check in was a lovely touch. Only disappointment was that there was a bar menu and light supper evening menu advertised but neither seemed to be available. We would have liked the opportunity of a light supper after our journey and if not available we would liked to have known in advance.

Nothing, though there was a slight water pressure problem with our basin (the shower was fine).

A lovely house and location. The interiors have been decorated with an artistic, inventive and tasteful eye. Our very large room was extremely comfortable and looked out on a beautiful garden. The two members of staff we met were both warmly welcoming, thoughtful and charming. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The price was startlingly low. We'll certainly be back!

We stayed at Stanshope on the first night of a cycle tour. The warmth and kindness of the welcome to this beautiful place was much appreciated after a wet and challenging ride. A good night's sleep in a comfortable bed followed by a delicious and generous breakfast set us up well for a successful ride to our next destination. We very much hope to pay another visit. With grateful thanks.

Chris, the previous host that checked us in on an earlier stay was not there. We missed his professional hospitality and warmth. He knew how to make the guests feel welcome. So maybe on the next trip, we get to see him!

Nothing!! But wished we had took a couple of drinks to enjoy in the evening in the garden as the view was beautiful.

The room was spacious with a comfy bed, great bathroom and powerful shower. It’s in a beautiful garden setting. Chris welcomed us warmly and the arrival tea and cake to greet us in the downstairs area was a lovely and unexpected touch. The breakfast was amazing! Best I’ve ever had in a hotel and the choice was outstanding. The personal touch Chris brought to us in his welcome and attention throughout our stay made it so enjoyable. Would fully recommend to stay here!!

We were hoping for the light supper option but, with this unavailable, were delighted and grateful to be offered a lift to a pub for a meal.
