To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Clean and comfortable and a nice way to meet fellow guests. The owner/manager was extremely efficient in communicating via any texts and was there in the morning..very friendly.

The whole atmosphere was great, very relaxed and welcoming. We had the room with a little outside area which was fabulous to sit and chat with a coffee. The host Tracy was amazing - super friendly and knowledgeable about what you could do if a tourist. Breakfast was lovely as in side kitchens where you help yourself to continental style - brilliant touch. We loved everything about our stay!!

I really enjoyed my stay at Southville Guesthouse as it felt like a home away from home, cosy and safe. Tracy, the owner, was very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. And she had lots of wonderful tips for exploring the city. My room was bright and comfortable and it had a washbasin – an unexpected bonus. The shared bathroom was just a few steps away on the same floor - which made it feel like an en-suite room. Everything was very clean. There were two self-service breakfast rooms/kitchens with communal tables. This set-up makes for a relaxed and informal atmosphere, which I found very appealing.

SwitzerlandIt is a remodelled terraced house, so not luxurious on space. We got the shared bathroom and waiting in the queue in the morning for the shower is not the most pleasant thing - our decision, though - we booked it like that. It is a residential neighbourhood, close enough where the action happens. Unfortunately, a detour was needed as the key pedestrian bridge was closed for refurbishment when we where there.
Tracy manages the guest house professionally (prepared our arrival; WhatsApp chats etc.) The self-service breakfast was better than expected (fresh fruits, yoghurt) it it wasn't a problem to leave the suitcase for the day after having checked out. Bathroom was clean and decent. I slept like a baby!
