For it to be absolutely perfect a deck with a few sun loungers would have been great.

We loved the relaxed chilled atmosphere this hotel managed to deliver and certainly not at the expense of service. Almost every member of staff made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect. Can either take the boat from the beach into Salcombe for £4.75 pp or do as we did take it one way and walk back the other. Beautiful walk into the town. Lovely outlook from the restaurant and the food breakfast lunch and dinner tremendous. High quality and full of flavour. We stayed in a standard room which was perfectly comfortable and spacious with a good sized bathroom. Spotlessly clean everywhere. In my opinion best hotel option in Salcombe will definitely return with our son, partner and their dog. Couldnt be anymore dog friendly.

I really can't think of anything I didn't like about the hotel, staff and location!

Food was superb, staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, room was bigger than I expected and very comfortable.

No shower cubicle in the room just a bath with the shower.

The meals are fairly expensive (especially once the service charge has been added); expect plenty of dogs, although this was OK there is the potential for problems.

A fantastic location with great sea views, the food was excellent and the bedroom facilities surpassed expectations.

We had a beautiful 3 night stay to celebrate our 'minimoon', bringing our dog with us as well. The room was bright and looked newly furnished to a high standard. The breakfast was delicious, and each night we dined at the restaurant in the hotel where the food was exquisite. The views from the hotel were outstanding. Already on our first day we were planning our next trip back. The staff were very friendly, helpful and also very attentive. Overall the stay was magical and definitely exceeded our expectations!

I did not like the 2 flights of stairs or hard matress and asked for room lower down anda mattress toper May be an idea to ask Guests if ok with 2 lots of stairs The staff were really good with this The first room 15 had a shower in the bath with glass panel not for older people really The second room 5 had a great separate shower

Breakfast excellent dinner not much for vegetarian except a Thai type curry and location was very good on sea front Staff exceptional

The hotel was in a beautiful location, we enjoyed a lovely view of the sea whilst enjoying the hotel's excellent restaurant. The rooms were spacious and decorated thoughtfully with attention to detail. The staff were kind, knowledgeable and helpful.

Our room we stayed in had stains on the bedding box, bit of mould around the grout area in the shower. No lift for people in need either

Being set in a tiny Devon village, the roads are very narrow - so people who know the width of their cars are essential for mutual progress! The fact that the car park is away across the other side of the road isn't ideal but can be worked around.

Ask for the best route to drive to the hotel - the sat nav can take you down some very narrow roads.

Beautiful setting. The boat trip to Salcombe is an easy and fun way to get into the town
